Our last Favorite Finding comes from Aparna R., one of BlueMark's Associates working across the firm to address clients' impact data and verification needs. When asked what she was most eager to see coming out of Making the Mark, she spoke about the improvements noted in soliciting end-stakeholder feedback, noting, "It's often difficult to know how impact is being experienced by beneficiaries unless we actively seek out their perspectives." 🌏 Earlier this year, BlueMark engaged with Singapore-based Tsao Family Office Pte. Ltd. to assess their impact strategy against industry benchmarks and standards. Family offices in Asia Pacific (APAC) are booming, with a significant generational wealth transfer on the horizon. This new generation, generally more interested in impact, is ready to lead. And—BlueMark is ready to help translate their goals into investment strategies that deliver on their desired social and environmental outcomes. “Our engagement with BlueMark allowed us to look critically at our current impact measurement and management processes, highlighting opportunities to bring rigour and formalisation to how we approach impact management at TFO. Family offices play a hugely critical role in scaling the impact investing market with integrity, and working with independent incisive third-party verifiers such as BlueMark helps us to do so,” said Bryan Goh, CEO of Tsao Family Office. Although Impact Frontiers' Reporting Norms are still early in their adoption lifecycle, data from Making the Mark V shows that a growing community of impact investors are on the right track, possessing the necessary foundations to report in accordance with these new expectations. However, there is still significant room for growth. "Understandably, impact investors want to be viewed in a positive light. Impact reports often paint an attractive picture of the results being achieved, as it can be difficult to report on challenges or expectations unmet. However, impact investors must embrace critical self-reflection, as this can reveal truly valuable insights for improvement." Continue reading at the link below to discover where investors are well positioned to report in line with the Norms—and where there is still work to be done. https://lnkd.in/gfsaGYp2
