Wellness Week at B Lab U.S. Canada started in 2020, born from a wellness pulse survey that highlighted the emotional and mental toll on our team during the COVID-19 lockdown and the widespread injustices against Black Americans. To address this, we implemented Wellness Week in July, closing our offices to give our team space and grace to recharge. Our community has shown immense gratitude for this mid-year break, leading us to establish two PTO weeks annually to prioritize wellness, rest, and a healthy work-life balance. Although Wellness Week was implemented in response to COVID, we recognize that our team faces difficulties both professionally and personally that require time for reflection and rest so we can show up at our best. We'd love to hear your thoughts! Ask us anything in the comments. And, when you can, we strongly encourage you to log off and take some time to rest 🩵

The fight for justice is deeply interconnected. Marginalized communities, particularly LGBTQIA+ individuals and people of color, are often the first to feel the impacts of climate change and economic inequality. By embracing intersectionality and advocating for a stakeholder economy, we can help create a world where every voice is heard. Achieving true and lasting change requires us to first recognize how these struggles overlap and reinforce each other. Swipe to learn more ➡️

Did you know that only 1.86% of venture capital goes to First Nations and Inuit founders in Canada? This stark statistic underscores the pressing need for greater representation and access to capital for Indigenous entrepreneurs. Despite facing systemic marginalization, Indigenous-owned businesses not only persist but also demonstrate remarkable innovation. From sustainable enterprises rooted in traditional knowledge to groundbreaking startups in technology and beyond, Indigenous entrepreneurs have been driving positive change and reshaping industries long before the B Corp movement existed. Supporting these businesses means more than just economic investment; it means championing a future where Indigenous voices are amplified, cultural heritage is celebrated, and equitable opportunities are accessible to all. Whether it’s choosing Indigenous-owned products and services, advocating for policy changes, or collaborating on community initiatives, we can all play a part in fostering an environment where Indigenous enterprises thrive. #BCorps #IndigenousOwned #IndigenousPeoplesDay
