Mrs. Hong Miller, Chief Human Capital Officer and Mrs. Kara Stetson, Deputy Chief of Staff hosted U.S. Army DEVCOM's Defense Civilian Training Corps Scholars at Army Futures Command Headquarters in Austin. The group had an open dialogue about the Training Corps and how AFC can leverage utilization of the program, which is a congressionally mandated talent development program that provides multidisciplinary, active learning curriculum with summer internship projects across Department of Defense locations.

Last week, Army Futures Command celebrated the 249th Army birthday with a community golf tournament, fitness event and cake cutting with special guests where Mr. Lee Leffingwell, 57th Mayor of Austin, officially proclaimed June 14 as ‘United States Army Day.’ Gen. James Rainey, commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Brian Hester recognized the winners of the Army Futures Command 2024 Best Squad Competition. The Army birthday cake cutting was performed by Private 1st Class Chester Sloan, World War II veteran and Lt.
