The U.S. Army Futures and Concepts Center conducts 60-70 exercise experiments around the world every year. The Army calls this persistent experimentation. These experiments are designed to demonstrate current and emerging capabilities in a multi-domain environment. The results of many smaller experiments feed lessons into the larger Project Convergence Capstone event, the fourth iteration of which took place earlier this year. Continuing the cycle, lessons learned from that Capstone event were applied in Project Convergence-Pacific 24 (PC-P24) in June and will be used in the fall in Europe in the Joint Warfighting Assessment (JWA24). These experiments are also part of the ongoing campaign of learning, and lessons learned from them will funnel into Project Convergence Capstone 5 next spring. Yesterday, PEO C3T’s new deputy, Kevin Chaney, was promoted to Brigadier General during a ceremony held at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The promotion celebrated his past service to the aviation and acquisition communities and the new role he will assume in his continued commitment to the Army. “Kevin Chaney will execute whatever mission we have for him, whenever we have it, and do so to the greatest of his ability,” said MG Robert Barrie, who hosted the promotion ceremony. “In Kevin, I know we’ve made the right choice.” Chaney began his military career in 1995. In 2016, he was hand selected by the Acting Secretary of the Army to be his Acquisition Military Assistant. Chaney would eventually become project manager (PM) for Aircraft Survivability Equipment and then PM for Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft. In June 2024, he began his service as deputy of PEO C3T. “When I started to think about what to say here, a couple of words definitely came to mind: Honored, humbled and thankful,” said Chaney. “Being an acquisition officer, we deliver capability. It still inspires me today to give capability to our Warfighters and Solders out there [to help] them do their jobs.” Chaney also acknowledged the role others have played in his success, saying, “The Army is a team sport; I couldn’t have done it without everyone in this room.” ASA(ALT) U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center (USAASC) U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center #FacesoftheForce #C3Teammates #ArmyNetwork #ArmyModernization #FutureArmy
