Founded in 1983 by design legends Deborah Sussman, Saul Bass, Jim Cross, and others, the Los Angeles chapter of AIGA continues to connect a variety of creative communities through programs, events, communication, and social outreach. AIGA, the professional association for design, is committed to furthering excellence in design as a broadly-defined discipline, strategic tool for business and cultural force. AIGA is the place design professionals turn to first to exchange ideas and information, participate in critical analysis and research and advance education and ethical practice.

Throwback Thursday: Objectified: A Documentary by Gary Hustwit August 2009 A special screening of, Objectified - A Documentary by Gary Hustwit, presented in conjunction with IDSA Los Angeles, with director Gary Hustwit (who also directed Helvetica) there for a discussion. Objectified is a feature-length documentary about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. It's a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It's about the designers who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It's about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability.
