❓ What is an agency search consultant ❓ We've been asked this question dozens of times over the decades. Sure, we manage agency reviews. Sure, we keep up with agency news. Sure, we are the "broker" between clients and agencies. But what stands out the most over the years is building wonderful relationships with the myriad of people that are driven to do purposeful work for clients and their brands. And those relationships transfer into forging enduring client-agency partnerships that produce impactful work that works. At AAR Partners, Kim Hunt and I speak with countless agencies throughout the year but each year we make it a mission to spend time visiting, conversing, and breaking bread with dozens of agencies. The past two and a half weeks, THIRTY-SEVEN agencies between New York City and Boston were visited by AAR Partners❗ What were some of the topics of discussion during these visits? 👇 ✔ It's the "year of the brand" - brand first, performance second. ✔ Marketers need quick ideas that make short-term sales. ✔ There is more project work up for grabs this year. ✔ CMOs need to prove the singles and doubles work before asking the CFO for added budget. ✔ It's taking a longer time to sign on the dotted line this year (once the agency is selected). ✔ Clients are looking to consolidate and have integrated agency relationships. ✔ Marketers need agencies to be the voice of the consumer. What did we ❤️ the most? Spending time with agency friends in real life and nurturing our relationships. After all, we are in the business of relationships first!
