GARDENDALE, Texas (Gray News) - A Texas family is mourning the deaths of two brothers in a car crash as a third brother and their mother continue recovering at the hospital.

Argen Garcia was killed in a Tuesday afternoon crash at an intersection in Gardendale. His two brothers and their mother, 41-year-old Angela Garcia, were hospitalized in critical condition, YourBasin.com reports.

One of the injured boys, Axell Garcia, died Sunday, according to a GoFundMe set up for the family by Adolfo Caballero. Loved ones told YourBasin.com that Axell had been on life support since the crash.

The boys’ mother is stable after undergoing multiple surgeries to repair broken bones, according to Caballero, and Aceyn Garcia, her only surviving son, is showing signs of improvement.

“This family’s struggle is just beginning. Angie and Aceyn are looking at months of rehab not to mention the grief they will endure. Please continue to pray for them and all those close to them,” Caballero wrote.

The GoFundMe for the family had raised more than $72,000, as of early Monday.

The Garcias were all passengers in a GMC Acadia that was T-boned after the driver of a Chevrolet truck allegedly ran a stop sign, YourBasin.com reports.

The Texas Highway Patrol identified the driver of the GMC as 61-year-old Elizabeth Ertel and the driver of the Chevrolet as 37-year-old Ashley Hillin. Both suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to MyTexasDaily.com.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
