Wednesday's Child: Khristian

There's a fourth grader in town who just wants to be a filmmaker...or a scientist. He hasn't decided yet.

One thing is for sure: Khristian is a cowboy in training.

"I love to do it," said Khristian, 10. He's got the boots, the belt buckle, and of course, the hat.

This fourth-grade student is redefining what it means to be a cowboy. Khristian's favorite subject is math.

"I'm the best," said Khristian with a grin. "I'm the best at it of all my classmates."

During his day at Star Cinema Grill, Khristian got a behind-the-scenes look at his other passion--film.

"I would like to make movies," said Khristian. His favorite movie is hit horror flick reboot, "It."

Khristian's not scared of much, but he'd still like a forever family that is "safe to me." He says that's important to him above all else.

"So that way I don't get bruised up and hurt and stuff," said Khristian.

Khristian is looking for a life full of the good stuff.

"Whoa--whoa," said Khristian as he saw the movie theater's stash of candy concessions.

Candy does appeal to this kid, but Khristian is looking for something even sweeter. He's up for adoption, living in the care of the state of Texas. He know just how he would show his forever family that he loves them.

"By acting like it," said Khristian.

There is no cost to adopt a child out of Texas foster care. Plus, any child adopted out of the system will receive free in-state college tuition when the time comes.
