Wednesday's Child: Angela

This month's adoptable Wednesday's Child has a heart full of love.

Angela is 16, but she has the cognitive abilities of a child about three years old. The adults in her life say that it may hinder her ability to communicate, but it doesn't hinder her ability to build relationships.

Angela's court-appointed special advocate says she has special needs and a special spirit--a spirit she's retained from home to home.

"Angela's been in foster care for over five years," said Medline Zion, Angela's CASA. "She was with a sibling group that has either aged out or been adopted. She's the last one still in care."

That's why Angela's hoping to find herself a forever home. She's a teenager who loves to draw, color, play card games, do puzzles, and bowl--but she has one passion she tries to keep a secret.

"She won't sing if you tell her to," said Anna Parris, a Wendy's Wonderful Kids adoption recruiter who works with Angela. "But you'll catch her singing along to all the songs in the car."

Angela's open about her love for people, however.

"She is so kind and compassionate and loving, said Zion. "It's surprised me how easy it was to spend time with her and just know her. She just likes relationships, to hang out and spend time with people."

What her heart really wants is that forever family to love her through it all.

"She really wants to be adopted, she says she wants a family," said Zion. "I asked her what that looks like to her, and she said 'I want a mom, and I want a dad, and I want a room.'"
