Puentes Para Invitados (Bridges for Guests)

Puentes Para Invitados (Bridges for Guests) is a project focused on both the healing and psychosocial well-being of migrant individuals—or guests—crossing the U.S. southern border as well as providers serving migrants in New Mexico. The goal of Puentes Para Invitados (PPI) is to support the creation of an asylee ecosystem in New Mexico that builds on local assets and expands the infrastructure for Trauma-Responsive (TR) services to migrant individuals and families. IWES will help build bridges to healing for guests and providers by increasing organizational capacity of TR care, as well as supporting narrative change by creating media pieces to amplify and humanize the untold stories of community members and migrant guests. PPI is funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

Stories of Healing

Stories of Healing was a virtual convening for advocates and migrant service providers that our Puentes Para Invitados team held on May 13, 2022. The presentations below are a series of excerpts from the convening highlighting the main themes we discussed during the event, which focus on applying a trauma-informed framework to the healing and psychosocial well-being of migrant individuals—or guests—crossing the U.S. southern border. Please reach out to us with any thoughts or questions you have after watching the recordings.
