September 19 - Confusion surrounds the election of Loughborough University graduate Sani Ndanusa as the new President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) with claims that the process is illegal and the results have been not recognised by the international Olympic Committee (IOC).

May 20 - Alexander Zhukov (pictured right) will today be formally installed as the new President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), replacing Leonid Tyagachev, who resigned in March in the wake of the team's disastrous performance at the Olympics in Vancouver.
January 7 - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended Kuwait's Olympic Committee (KOC) because of alleged political interference by the Government, they have announced.
July 27 - Kuwait will make the necessary changes to ensure that it is not suspended from competing in the London 2012 Olympics, its Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Dr Mohammad Al-Afasi has promised.
