American teenage sensation Jordan Stolz overcame double Olympic champion Kjeld Nuis of The Netherlands to win men's 1,500 metres gold at the International Skating Union Speed Skating World Cup in Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
Stolz is high on confidence after capturing five gold medals at last week’s World Junior Championships and continued his flying form in the Polish city.
Nuis has won the event at the past two Winter Olympic Games but he could not stop the 18-year-old who stormed to victory.
Stolz crossed the finish line in 1min 45.44sec to break the track record of 1:45.76 held by Dutch speed skater Thomas Krol.
