A partnership which put highlights of last month's SportAccord International Convention on television screens and computers around the world has been hailed.
Eurovision, the Convention's Official Content Distribution Partner, made daily highlights produced by International Sports Broadcasting available on its WorldFeed and WorldLink on-demand service.
On the opening day of the Convention in Belek in Antalya, Turkey, 16 companies used clips for broadcast or online use.
"We were very pleased to see wider television distribution than ever before this year and thank Eurovision for enabling broadcasters around the world to show coverage of our event," said SportAccord Convention managing director Nis Hatt.
European broadcasters in Cyprus, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland, together with Eurosport, were among those accessing video from the annual event.
Channels in Iran, Kuwait, Qatar and Mexico, as well as a number of news agencies including Reuters and SNTV, also used footage.
On average, nine companies a day previewed content for broadcast and online use during the event, which ran from April 6 to 11, according to SportAccord Convention.
Stefan Kuerten, director of sports and business department at EBU/Eurovision, said: "We have been partners of SportAccord Convention for many years, but now we are taking our support of the event into a new phase by making news and related content from the Convention accessible to broadcasters around the world."
Thirty-second commercials were shown on Euronews before and during the event, with it airing more than 50 commercial spots
A location for next year's Convention, the 13th, has yet to be announced.
Visits have been made to locations in three bidding cities - Abu Dhabi, Durban and Sochi - with Brazil also showing interest in hosting the event, which encompasses the congresses and general assemblies of more than 100 International sports.
