Bright Young Women

3.5 stars (I once again beg Goodreads to add a half star feature.) This was a unique and refreshing take on the T*d B*ndy murders. I really liked how the author flipped the pre-existing narrative of Bundy completely on its head. That being said, something about the book just didn’t work for me. I found the writing style confusing and every sentence felt far more complicated than it needed to be. I also thought a lot of the characters were really annoying (except for Ruth I’d never say a bad word about her.)

I also found the writing style more complicated than it needed to be at times! some sentences I had to go back and read like 10 times. liked the book a lot but there was something missing for sure
I'm just starting this book, and I am not even sure I'll get through it. This writing style is so hard to deal with. It's like someone trying to sound smarter than they are.
Yes the writing style is exhausting Pamela’s sections are exhausting to read because it’s mainly her sections like this so far. Some parts needed a comma and were incredibly confusing. Had to reread a bunch. Some sections are typed like a text would be without punctuation and just a whole tangent. I’m confused
I agree that at first this novel was hard to get into, but once Ruth’s character was introduced it got easier to read. I sometimes had to go back and re-read because I wasn’t quite sure what the author was saying and by whom.
