There Should Have Been Eight

I was excited for this one. I'm a fan of locked room mysteries and Nalini Singh, but the plot of There Should Have Been Eight was somehow both too fast and too slow.
The characters were one-dimensional. I didn't care or connect with them because they simply weren't fleshed out enough. In the time we could have learned more about each we were instead treated to a completely pointless subplot that happened years before, which dragged the book way down.
And the end... it was ok, I guess.... but not surprising in the least.
It was overall just a bit of a let down.

Wish this had turned out better for you! Loved the way you mentioned about the subplot issue that happened years before, seems like a problem with most thrillers these days. Hope your next title by Nalini Singh is a winner! Happy Reading to you in the near future Michelle! Happy Easter as well! Have a great Sunday! :)
