I was saving this one for the season 🎃 It's my first Riley Sager book. I liked his writing and I listened to the audio which was really captivating for about 55% of the story.
This one started off great. The premise is really catching. I felt like it was going to be a 4 star read for me. I was captivated by both of the 1983 (present time line) and the 1929 (past time line.) I loved the atmosphere and gothic feel to the old crooked house on the cliff. The suspense at the beginning was top-notch. That first twist was good! I liked it but THEN it just kept rolling with twist after twist that just became too ridiculous for my liking. Big-time OTT! I did not like the ending!

Never read Sager but I do hear about his tendency to frequently go OTT. Still so many people like it, curious! Maybe it just takes a little time to get used to it lol. Honest review Tina! Glad you still enjoyed :D

Oh no, I've been wanting to read this one, but that OTT in the last half and all the unnecessary and silly twists is enough to put me off. Fair and helpful review, Tina!
