did not like it

** spoiler alert ** Oh nooo, the daughter was actually the culprit the whole time. I guess that means that the rude, gaslighting, manipulative, jealous, possessive, condescending husband who wouldn’t listen to reason and used his wife’s family trauma against her when he was mad didn’t have to die :/
What a real shame. Fuck off with this whole book honestly. It felt like pulling teeth to make myself finish this.

Angela McKay Well said. I'm glad I'm not the only one who foynd this book ridiculously bad.

Liezel Hewitt Im so glad someone agrees with me! I hated this book!

Lara Humzy I liked the book- but I think it’s because I liked that the dad died. Fucking idiot.

message 4: by LV (new) - rated it 1 star

LV I only cared about Oscar and Evie. Man. Why tf does it have high ratings??

Janedoe WHY DID HE INSIST ON HER BEING THE NANNY IF HE KNEW SHE WAS CRAZY?? Denial or not, why risk putting your family in danger?? That was what frustrated me the most, beyond all the things you described 😂

Sarah I found the book quite disappointing and too many plot holes. Richard’s behaviour makes no sense it he knew his daughter was dangerous. I may read a fair few psychological thrillers but I saw the ending coming a mile away

Tiffany Thorpe Yes. I agree. I feel like he deserved what he got but the whole time I struggled to finish this. All the characters drove me nuts…

paola✨ It’s interesting to see why you disliked it and yes the husband was indeed annoying that’s true but I still enjoyed other aspects of the book 🤷‍♀️

Ananya Bhardwaj Everyone on facebook loved this book. I'm glad I'm not the only one disliking it.

Carly Ford Exactly how I feel! This is the second book I’ve read like this and it pisses me off. The men are actually horrible but since there’s someone who’s worse in the book the author expects us to forgive them. When he called her a slut at the beginning of the book and she said he punched his hand through a WINDOW I was like, ma’am, those are fire engine red flags.

Danielle Trexler I agree! It was frustrating. The father held just as much guilt and the daughter but it’s definitely too bad he had to die. Getting through this book was so stressful!

Cherron McPherson I won't say I hate this book, but I will say your review summarizes my thoughts to the letter! Hmm, maybe I do hate the book...

Plain Panko This book I abandoned. The main character was weak and dishonest. It was obvious who the villain was even from the blurb, and weak dumb dialogue.

Summer Bookscapades Joanne also describes her husband as goofy and wonderful. Like what?!!! Gurl... Are you for real?!!

Allison Hartman Does anyone else suspect the husband WAS the real culprit? 🤔 That's how I felt after reading it. Why would he insist Chloe babysit Evie? Why would he defend Chloe so much? I feel like he manipulated the grandma too.... Just my tjought and wondering if anyone else felt the same?

My best friend made me listen to this book as she needed someone to discuss it with. I HATED IT!! I had whiplash after reading it!

Hannah Kaye Omg this, I tried to stick with it but it was so awful

message 17: by Ally (new) - rated it 2 stars

Ally I knew it. It was predictable and the only reason I finished it was to mark off a goal for my books read this year and it didn’t take me long to complete.

Aiesha Dainty I couldn’t stand Joanne! Richard pissed me off so much!!!!

message 19: by Katy (new) - rated it 1 star

Katy Clements Finally got to the end. I'd just leave his ass...f"n douche

Ameera LMAO REALLL 💀 joanne is literally the dumbest thriller mc i’ve had to read about

Jesika King Not me looking exactly for this to see if I should bother reading it.

Books I Read I don't know why but this review made me cackle!! thank you for saving me the money :-)

theactivesquirrel Richard was the worst. Completely agree, didn’t feel bad for him. How on earth could he insist Chloe watch the baby…awful husband.

message 24: by Anna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Anna Maria I enjoyed this book until the end. When Joanne, baby.,and Nana are looking at photos while Chloe is conveniently sent for strawberry jam. Nana turns everything on it's head, making Chloe the psycho. Why was the Father, Richard so abusive with his bad language, gun, axe. I am still confused as to who is actually the psycho. Up until this point I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book. Now I still have no idea who the real psycho is. Any ideas from any other readers please. I gave it 5 stars because the story kept me really interested.

Teri Ceola After reading this I’m thinking the author left us hanging. What is Chloe going to do now that she has this new information from Nana?

Hailey Lowe You ate with this review

message 27: by Kelly (new) - rated it 1 star

Kelly My thoughts exactly!! lol

message 28: by Ari (new) - rated it 1 star

Ari Damoulakis Absolutely rubbish book yeah!

Christie Reynolds I feel the exact same hahaha

Rachel Daley I still don’t understand why the husband kept defending Chloe??? If he knew his wife and baby were in danger, why would he leave for a trip? Still don’t understand!
