10-POINT SUMMARY:

1.) Joanne is an estate agent who married Richard. She is now a stay at home mom to their daughter Evie.

2.) Chloe moves in with them to reconnect with her father and to babysit her stepsister.

3.) Chloe acts rude to Joanne but pretends to be kind when her father is around. She makes problems and gaslights Joanne into thinking it's her fault. Robert always sides with Chloe and gaslights Joanne into thinking that she is losing her mind.

4.) Through research, Joanne discovers that the death of Robert's ex wife was declared as suicide caused by their baby's death. But Joanne has her suspicions that Chloe killed her mom and sister. So she is scared that Chloe wants to kill Evie.

5.) She sets up hidden cameras around the house but she can't find any evidence.

6.) Richard goes away on a work trip. Chloe convinces Joanne that it is the father who is the killer, motivated by money (insurance). She says that Richard wants to kill Joanne and Evie, and blame it on Chloe. And that richard is not actually going on a work trip, and is coming back to kill them.

7.) Richard comes back to the house. Chloe and Joanne hide in the basement. Richard tries to find them, saying that it is Chloe who is a liar.

8.) Chloe kills Richard.

9.) Chloe now lives with Joanne and they get along very well with Evie.

10.) They visit Chloe's grandmother. And the grandmother reveals that Chloe always lies and that she killed her mom and sister to keep her father to herself. (Don't know who's telling the truth. Everybody is always lying in this book...ugh)

MY TAKE:

⭐⭐ - Gaslight Galore

I was annoyed the whole time I was reading this book. Not one character is likeable. Joanne describes her husband as goofy and wonderful. Like what?!!! Gurl... Are you for real?!! Shes like an eager to please golden retriever. Ugh... Hated every moment I was reading. I just wanted to reach the end to see what is really going on. And the way that the grandmother just pops up in the end to deliver the twist.... How convenient for the plot.
