Wow, I was really impressed with this mystery!! This is my first read by this author and it was fantastic.

I love when a title fits a book so well!! There is certainly a double meaning in the word “lies” in the title, you will see why when you read the book!!

Just a brief plot summary : Naomi, Cassidy and Olivia were besties in grade school. The summer when they were eleven they spent in the woods playing endless games. That summer they were obsessed with what they called The Goddess game - they had found something special in the woods and that was the foundation of this game. It was all fine, the child-play imaginative sorcery, chanting, offerings, etc, until their lives were shattered forever!!

Naomi was attacked and stabbed 17 times, it was a miracle that she survived. Olivia and Cassidy had been hiding when the attack took place, or were they?

They all identified a man as the attacker, but it was Naomi’s testimony that sent him to prison for life. She has often wondered if she was really sure about that identification – she was so traumatized and on a multitude of drugs for pain.

Now that he has died in prison, the three feel that they should get together and sort through their feelings on this.

Nothing goes as planned and everything is different than what it seems!!

The three girls all have personal problems that they have been dealing with and they are all hiding secrets!

I was thrilled with the intricacy of this plot and the ENDING – WOW, I didn’t see that coming at all!

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a great mystery with writing that flows well. This one took hold of me and didn’t let go until the satisfying ending.
