I enjoy Camilla Isley's writing and this book was delightful. It's light, original, and fun! It Started with a Book depicts what happens when Leighton, a bookworm, falls asleep while reading a romance novel and finds herself in the book she is reading. Killian St Clair, the fictional hottie billionaire cowboy in the book she was reading when she fell asleep is there with her in Lakeville Hills.
This goes on for a time, Leighton being in her world during the day and going to sleep and finding herself in Lakeville Hills. But one morning she wakes up and Killian St. Clair is with her in her apartment....
This was a unique and cute book. I found the idea of being transported into a book to be a charming idea. Isn't that what all readers experience while reading to a degree? I enjoyed how Isley used several romance tropes in this book and that the story was light and charming.
Although this was not my favorite book by Camilla Isley, it was still enjoyable, unique, delightful and fun.

When her mother stFiona is a busy woman who runs her family's Swiss watch company. But time is not one thing that she has and wishes she had more of. When her mother stops in for a visit, Fiona (Fi) is given a missing family heirloom that her mother stole to get back. What's more is that the timepiece is rumored to have magical abilities.
When Fi wakes up on a tropical island, beside a man she does not recognize, she is freaks out. Where is she? Why is he calling her by another name? Once she calms, she realizes that she has been transported into her dreams where she is a married woman with two children.
This is a book that screams "believe in the power of your dreams". By day, Fi is a businesswoman running a watch company. She spends time with those in her life while at night, she is transported to the island and the life she has there.
When I started this book, I had my doubts. I love Sarah Ready's books and devoured the first two books in this series, and found that I was not instantly in love with this book as I had been with Ghosted and Switched. My advice is to stick with this book because there is a nice payoff that comes toward the end. I went from enjoying it, to not being able to put it down.
With the other books in this series, this book touches on finding love in unconventional ways. There is that magical/paranormal touch that comes into play. Suspending disbelief is necessary. With romance it is all about the journey and Fi goes on quite the journey in this book.
I enjoyed how Fated touches on family, friendship, romance, time, motherhood, and vulnerability. The characters are likeable, quirky, endearing and well-drawn. I also enjoyed the vivid descriptions of the tropical island. I felt as if I were swept away and right there with them as a silent observer.
As with Sarah Ready's other books, this book was beautifully written, well thought out, had fun parts, parts that pull on the heartstrings, and great banter.
I had the pleasure of having both the book and audiobook versions of Fated. Fans of this series, will be happy to see Daniel (Fi's brother) from Ghosted.
I look forward to the next book in the series.

They were high school sweethearts until Molly ghosted to Seth. They find themselves seated together at their 15th high school reunion and after a few drinks...
I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed it, I felt it dragged, I was sucked in and fully invested, then I thought it would never end, etc. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrations but hoped that things would feel as if they were happening faster.
What I enjoyed was Seth's positivity, his faith in love, his vulnerability, and his outlook on life. I also enjoyed the banter between Molly and Seth. It took me some time to decide how I felt about Molly. She is a pessimist who self-sabotages a lot in this book. I do appreciate that she acknowledges her anxiety and the reason for the self-sabotage. This was a nice touch in the book. I also enjoyed getting both main character's POVs.
I just struggled with how long the book felt. I wish the pacing was more even.
Many are enjoying this book more than I did, please read their reviews as well.

Riley Thorn and the Corpse in the Closet is a light, fun, read which is full of antics, interesting characters and a farting dog! This is book #2 in the Riley thorn series and could be read as a stand-alone but the first book, Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door was an enjoyable read and I recommend reading it first.
I enjoy the banter between Riley and Nick. I enjoy both characters but especially Nick. I also like the fact that we get to meet Nick's family and Riley's grandmother makes an appearance. Oh, let's not forget the corpse in the closet!
I enjoyed this book this book but it lost a little of its magic for me. My one complaint is that this book didn't need to be this long. I think I would have enjoyed this book slightly more with the help of a little editing. Having said that, overall, this was an enjoyable light read which had me smiling in parts. This is also going to be a third book so I will be keeping my eye open for that.

This book has some charming Love in Tandem is a clean light romance with likeable characters who go on a 500 mile tandem bicycle ride to raise money. This book has some charming moments, some fun moments and some moments that put a smile on my face.
Charlotte was devastated when she learned the music program at the school where she teaches music was ending. She is determined to raise money to save it. She never thought that ex-fiancé, Ben's brother, Zach would be the one to help her out on the ride. Zach is back in town to be the best man at his brother's wedding to Zach's ex-girlfriend. UGH! Talk about messy. He never thought he would run into his brother's ex-finance, Charlotte, let alone agree to go on a 500-mile tandem bicycle ride to raise money. He could use some money as well.
Romance is all about the journey for me and Charlotte and Zach go on quit the journey in this book. Both believe they know each other one, but along the way, they learn that there is more to each other than they originally thought. I enjoyed their banter, the funny situations they found themselves in, and the way they realized their assumptions about the other was wrong.
I enjoyed the writing, the humor, the characters, and the fun in this book. I had no idea that this book is considered Christian fiction/Christian Romance when I requested it. I can say that this book is not preachy or overly religious. There is one small section where there are mentions of finding faith and losing faith. Otherwise, I would classify this as a light, entertaining, fun romance book.
Romance is a journey and who doesn't love a journey when it involves a bike!
I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration.

Better Left Unsent is a light, fun, rom-com that had some fun moments, some interesting emails, some embarrassment, and some cute relationships. For some individuals it helps them to write down what is on their mind without giving the note/letter/email to the individual who they are writing. It's a tool to process feelings and emotions. For Millie Chandler, writing emails helps her to get things off her chest. She has no intention of sending them, she is just processing. But one day, after a power outage at work, those emails that have been sitting in her drafts folder, get sent to EVERYONE!!!! How mortifying!!!!!!
I felt for Millie as everyone, and their brother got to read those emails. Image having to face everyone after that! UGH! Talk about uncomfortable. I felt for Millie as she tried to navigate her life and relationships post email scandal. There are a nice number of characters in this book and there were some that were more likeable than others. Then there was one that was a complete and utter jerk! I had fun trying to figure out how the emails got sent. I also enjoyed the multiple relationships in this book.
I found this book to be a fun, light, charming, entertaining, well written, read which left me smiling. This was a nice change of pace from what I typically read.

This book has several tropes: single dad, age difference, close proximity, nanny/employer, etc. This is the second book in the Big Shots series but worked very well as a stand-alone book for me.
Tallulah is studying to be a Marine Biologist. She's low on funds and in need of a job. When Burgess, a single dad and Hockey player offers her a live in job as a nanny to his daughter, Tallulah happily accepts. Both characters are likeable and dynamic. Both are strong but also have issues and vulnerabilities. I enjoyed their complex and distinct personalities.
It's all about the journey with romance books and this was a highly enjoyable one. I loved the banters, the angst, the attraction, and the writing.
This is the first book that I have read by Tessa Bailey, but it will not be my last! I can't believe that it took me so long to read one of her books. I have several on my tbr list and will be making a point to get to them soon!

A college assignment will change everything....
This is a retelling of Tangled and had a strong YA vibe. While I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. I usually adore Christina Lauren books and this one was missing the mark a little bit for me. What I did enjoy was the modern take on Tangled, Ren's ability to adapt, the tension, and the depth of the characters. I especially liked that there was more to Fitz than meets the eye.
If you have watched Disney's Tangled, then you know somewhat what is going to happen, which made this book predictable to a degree. I enjoyed the journey of Ren and Fitz together and of them separately.
I put this in the liked but didn't love category. The authors did a great job being true to the story and making it modern. I am sure that a lot of time and thought went into the writing of this book. I wonder how many times they had to watch the movie to nail everything. I must give them mad props for that. It was just lacking that little bit of something to push my rating higher.

Nothing like having salt rubbed into your wounds. Determined to make the best of things, Gigi arrives in Hawaii and is shocked when she is given a luxurious suite and is waited on hand and foot. She tells everyone that she has a date for the wedding and now she must find a date FAST!
This was an entertaining, cute, fun book that left me smiling. I enjoyed how the author touched on insecurity, vulnerability, loyalty, and friendship. I also enjoyed the antics and situations that Gigi found herself in while trying to find a date. Some are OTT and some were cute.
I enjoyed Gigi and her family. They were all likeable and had a great bond. I also enjoyed Donnie, who is at the resort alone after a breakup and becomes her sidekick as she attempts to find a date for her sister's wedding.
I thoroughly enjoyed this friends to lovers book. I always say, with romance books it is all about the journey. I loved the journey in this book. Another plus, is that nothing felt rushed or drawn out in this book. Everything happened at a nice realistic pace.
Fun, entertaining, well written, and charming.

Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door is full of quirky and unique characters who captivated this reader. Riley Thorn, the main character, is divorced and lives in an old mansion with a handful of elderly roommates. Riley is experiencing clairvoyant visions; visons that she doesn’t want. One of those involves a neighbor. When Nick Santiago, a hot to trot, private investigator shows up and wants to help her solve whodunit, well, things get interesting!
This book kept me on my toes and turning the pages. This was a fun book that had me smiling several times while reading. I loved Riley's roommates and their spunk. Naturally, solving the mystery will not be easy and there will be a lot of roadblocks in the way.
I found this book to be entertaining, well written, and fun! There are so many likeable characters and I loved it when all the roommates got together. Their banter and camaraderie were endearing. There were some characters who were real stinkers as well.
The mystery of the dead guy next door was nice, but I enjoyed the interactions between Riley and Nick the most! I look forward to reading more about them in the next book!
The only downside of the book for me is that it felt a tad bit long.
Overall, an enjoyable and entertaining read!

Another sweet, romantic, and wonderful installment in her True Love series. I adored both main characters, their story, their challenges, and their banter. This book had a nice number of humorous moments, some angst, some drama, some longing, and some attraction in it. While it is the third book in the series, this book can easily be read as a stand-alone. Having said that, the first two books in the series (Not in a Billion Years & Baby, One More Time) were wonderful and I recommend reading them as well.
Reese has worked hard to get where she is career wise. She has a PhD and is the head of her division at Mercer Robotics. She is not too excited when she learns that the son of the owner of the company will be doing a rotation in her department.
Thomas, is the handsome and charming, son of the company and is informed he will be doing new things. He is going to be doing a rotation in the Research and Development department to learn all that he can.
This was a charming book that had me smiling and chuckling a few times while reading. Romance is all about the journey for me and I loved the journey both Reese and Thomas went on. Plus, there are robots and sticky notes involved which warmed my heart.
If you are looking for a fun, light, heartwarming read, this book is for you! I found this book to be well written, endearing, witty, and charming. I hope there are more books in this series (fingers crossed) as I enjoy Camilla Isley's writing and characters.

Searching for Your Song is about second chances, making a difference, attraction, lies, and hope.
Lola research whales (how cool is that!) and is in desperate need of some funding. She once walked away from the man she loved to pursue her dreams. Oscar is a drug addicted rock star who isn't that into fame. He wants to make a difference, he wants to change, and recalls that his first love loved whales.
This was a wonderful book about second chances, making a difference, being honest, addiction, taking a chance and starting over. The characters are likeable and deal with real life issues. I enjoyed the wonderful writing and how the book was told through the POV of both Lola and Oscar.
I appreciated how the author did not rush anything in the book. Both characters were dealing with their own real-life issues. They had things they needed to work on and through and nothing came easy. This made their journey even more enjoyable.

When I started the book, I did not want to put it down as I was savoring the plot, enjoying the characters, and feeling all kinds of emotions.
The two main characters are both likeable, charming, and are dealing with their own issues. Sage is bubbly and has a hobby farm and has a hard time saying no to taking in animals in need. She is also trying to avoid the pitying eyes of the locals who know her ex has moved on quite fast after their breakup. Fisher is a Chef who recently lost his sister and is now responsible for his teenage niece. He and his niece travel to Spunes, Oregon so he can consult on a restaurant opening. Sage and Fisher make a deal which they hope will help both.
I found this to be a wonderful and charming romance book which had the characters dealing with real life issues. I thought the author did a great job depicting grief, frustration, pain, and loss to name a few. I also enjoyed the characters’ banter, their interactions, and fun moments. The characters felt real, and I enjoyed how they began to be open and vulnerable with each other. I love books which evoke emotions. There were times in the book where I wanted to give both a hug, and other times where I enjoyed smiling with them, and other times where I cheered for them.
This is the first book which I have read by Tarah Dewitt, and it will not be my last. I loved the emphasis on community, small town charm, growth, resiliency, communication, and love.

In It's Complicated, Lori, Jace and Aiden have been best friends since college. But now Aiden, who Lori has been in love with since they met, is getting married. Enter fake dating stage left. Lori comes up with a plan to fake date Jace, in a last-ditch effort to get Aiden's attention and hopefully make him jealous. As you can imagine, things get interesting fast.
Coming in at under 300 pages, I easily read this in one day. I was instantly swept up in the book and the characters’ lives. I found Lori, Jace and Aiden to be likeable characters and appreciated how Isley depicted their close bonds, witty banter, and deep friendships. There was also one moment where I laughed out loud and had a smile on my face for most of the book. I also enjoyed the POV chapters.
As I mentioned, I enjoy Camilla Isley's books. They are like a breath of fresh air. They are light, enjoyable, charming and leave me feeling happy. With romance books it is all about the journey and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey the characters went on in this book. I also liked how Isley showed how relationships can be messy especially when dealing with insecurities, making assumptions, miscommunications, and being vulnerable. Daphne Bell has been receiving little slips of paper for quite some time. These little pieces of magic let her know who long she is going to be with someone. But when her friend sets her up to meet a man named, Jake, the piece of paper has no date. Nada. Could he be the one??? He is a great guy! Is he Daphne’s happily ever after?
While learning more about Daphne and her meet cute with Jake, readers are given glimpses into Daphne's past relationships. Plus, we see Daphne hanging out with Hugo, her best friend and former boyfriend. He also happens to be the only person she has confided in about the slips of paper.
This was a unique and original book. It can easily be read in one day. It was entertaining and had me smiling. It also had me reminiscing as I lived Los Angeles for almost 20 years. Liz is neurodivergent, quiet, and likes to keep to herself while her husband, Tobin is gregarious and sociable. At her thirteenth birthday party, she decides it is time to make a change in her life after being mistaken for a server and not the birthday girl. Her solution is to move out of their home and in with her sister, work on herself, and take an improv class. She wants to work on her confidence which is a worthy thing to do but I did find some of her actions to be a little abrupt and dramatic. What happened to communication? Okay, okay, that is one of the things Liz needs to address.
The tips on improv were fantastic and applied to relationships as well. I loved these tips and the messages that were shared. While I appreciated the emphasis on Liz's desire to make changes and her bravery in doing so, the conflict at work and home didn't work for me. It is obvious that Liz and Tobin have things they need to work on in their marriage, but I just had a hard time connecting with them.
I enjoy second chance romances, but this one didn't work for me that way that I had hoped. What worked for me was Liz's journey, her courage to make changes, her acceptance and realization of her own issues, and learning to speak up for herself was the best part of the book (besides the improv tips).
I had both the book and the audiobook and though the narrator of the audiobook did a fine job of bringing this book to life.

Anna Green married Liam “West” Weston in college to get subsidized family housing in college. She thought he was marrying her for the same reason. She also thought that when they graduated, the papers he asked her to sign were divorce papers....
When Liam/West shows up three years later, Anna is shocked to learn that they are still married and that he needs her to come with him to his sister's destination wedding on a private island. His family has been asking about his wife and he needs to show he is happily married to gain access to the money his grandfather left in his will. Liam and Anna are polar opposites. She is a fun, quirky, pink haired starving artist. Liam is a strait-laced professor at Stanford and heir to a grocery store empire.
This was a fun read full of interesting and quirky characters. Liam has many toxic family members and he and Anna must do their best to put on a show of being happily married. I enjoyed the fake marriage/real marriage component of this book. This provided many jaws dropping, shocking, funny, and dramatic scenes in the book. I also enjoyed the family dynamics on display. Anna has a loving relationship with her father and her life resolves caring for him during his health crisis. Liam's relationships with his family members are far from loving...
I enjoyed the story, the family dynamics, tension, attraction, and connections formed in this book. Plus, there was some fun and sexy banter as well.
