I wasn’t a fan of the first book, and even less so with this one. Plus all his musings into his childhood was a bore and the name dropping ( yeah, we get that SK is a hero…) grew tiresome.

I understand HF can bring to light little known people and events from history, but I’m one that incessantly wants and googles the REAL story as I read.

When a pregnant woman who has spent the majority of her life in one room suffers horrible physical and emotional abuse from an adult man, and is then abused by her son, who is a CHILD....I'm out and only wish I could scrub the scenes from my brain.

This was a take-off on the writers of a SNL-type show, a show I loved, so I don't know how you could make that subject boring, but the author succeeded in doing just that.
Plus the book was described as "hilarious". Um, no, not even a little bit....more

I loved the author’s book, Dear Edward, but this one failed to keep my interest and I found it strange and weird.
It was depressing and slow, with unlikable characters. None of these factors alone is a deal breaker, but combined, it was the kiss of death.
William is the only sympathetic character but I just couldn’t slog through more of the story to find out what happens to him.
For some reason the author wrote the story it as if it was set during the 1940’s or ‘50’s, not the 1980’s, which created confusion.
