Many children have to leave their homes behind for one reason or another - and sometimes that reason is a war. I feel like this book could offer comfort and understanding to many who find themselves in a new home. I know I probably would have benefited from a story like this as a child who spent three years asking when we are going back home after simply moving to another house.
For the art itself, it's really beautiful and melancholic and I really enjoyed how much warmth the star on the window brought to the story. My biggest complaint is that of the text itself. It was quite small and sometimes I turned the page and I thought there were no words on it at all. And then I turned the page again and the text there didn't make sense with the previous one so I had to go back looking for the text.
I also had a bit hard time feeling for the characters as the story just started with; hey here is a character. Now the character is in another place. Now the story is over. So, I didn't really feel connected to the story at all.
But overall, nice book with beautiful illustrations.
I don't remember when I have last had this much fun while reading something.

First things first; I need you to look at the cover of this book. You are looking at it? It looks fluffy regular slice-of-life manhwa. Very unassumingFirst things first; I need you to look at the cover of this book. You are looking at it? It looks fluffy regular slice-of-life manhwa. Very unassuming. Normal.
And now I need you to picture this; I am in Sweden visiting a friend (if you are reading this, hi!) and we are at a bookshop. I notice this one on the manga shelf. I pick up this very specific cover and show it to my friend and ask; "why is it in plastic?" We laugh about it. The cover is like that, how does the "includes mature content" text on the back make any sense?
I did not buy the book at that time. It was 18 euros. But I did look it up online where to read it as e-copy. I did not buy that one either - not yet. I go home and three days later I am still thinking about this book. Mature content and that kind of cover?
Yesterday I bought the e-copy of this book. I get it now.
Was it good? Well... that is objective and I would say no expect I had such a good time reading this. Honestly, 5/5 of reading experience. Would I ever recommend this to anyone? Never.
How would I put it? If you know what KinnPorsche is (if you don't, maybe reconsider googling it if gay sex mafia show with bread commercials sounds alarming to you, this is like a crossover of that and every single soft fluffy slice-of-life story ever made. If you are like me and enjoy both I think you will enjoy this one too.
At the present moment, I am actually almost finished with the whole series... will not be writing long and thoughtful reviews to all of them. ...more
