Goodreads asked Leslie Tall Manning:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Leslie Tall Manning Get your rear end in the chair, first and foremost. I write Mon through Thurs, two to three hours at a time. I never waver. It's like punching a time clock. I pretend my characters have been holding their breath all night, and without me to help them breathe, they will die. So get your rear into the chair! Just remember to take breaks, sleep well, eat well, and stretch. Writing is only part of your life. Find the balance!
