Auf dem Ballenbühl habe ich in den 80er Jahren einige Zeit gewohnt; war auch keine schlechte Zeit.
Taken in Columbus Belmont State Park, TN. Really like how the limbs on the tree look against the night sky.
I'm not a big fan of winter brown, but leafless trees do have some charm of their own revealed only when their leaves are gone... I think this is Osage Orange bark but any confirmation or correction would be appreciated.
On a very cold quiet little lane by Old Winchester Hill looking across the South Downs. UK. I didn't want this to be too stark and contrasting, I wanted the tree to vignette into the sky.
Our neighbours across the street have a group of trees in front of the house displaying the most awesome fall colours. From left to right: Mayday (Prunus pada commutata), Korean Cherry (Prunus maximowiczii), Showy Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia), and a Preston Lilac (Syringa x presoniae 'Miss Canada'). A perfect scene for the autumnal equinox.
Oh, and the little stuffed doll people on the bench, add a nice touch as well.
Cold and warm collide. Frosted branches complete with the last drops of autumn warmth and colour beneath this mightly oak on a frosty and foggy December morning in Somerset today.
Not sure I've really done it justice here, but it's a great old tree. One of my favourites. I love how it clings to life depsite being completly hollow on this side.
The Tree: One of my best friend. I have seen many beautiful sunset just sitting beside it.

The tree is modeled after a bonsai tree and is 145 feet tall, and at the base it is 50 feet wide. There are over 8,000 branches in various sizes, and over 102,000 man-made leaves. Each leaf is over a foot long.
