Summer is now 18 inches long (!) and 9 lbs. She is 4 1/2 months old this week.

An old and very small photo. But still I love the action!

Summer has arrived and this skirt is perfect for relaxing on a warm day with a drink and a smile. Happy days being a girl like this.......

A wide-angle shot of the Summer Triangle I took outside Puerto Del Rosario in Fuerteventura (outside the small town of Tetir) - the south of the image is washed out with light pollution due to the proximity to Puerto del Rosario... But an impressive sky still considering how close it is.

This is a stack of around 10 images, of 30 seconds exposure each.

I went to the Royal Botanical Gardens and took a bunch of shots of some pretty flowers and leaves. Had a fun time, but it was kind of hot out.

Here's a macro I took of some pollen in a flower that I can't recall the name right now. I thought it would make a good shot.

The sun sets on the last day of summer. Autumn begins, leaves will soon change and wildlife prepare for the long cold winter.

lingering evenings, endless variety of wildflowers, alpine treks, morning coffee in the backcountry, long hikes, road trips, freedom.

happy summer!

British Summer time ends today. Weâve led a charmed existence over September and October; the storms kept away by high pressure which has lulled us into feeling that summer is not quite at an end. I climbed into the hill fog this morning in search of colour in the local wood. The village seems painted brightly, the trees the best I've seen in the 10 autumns that I've been here - usually our leaves are blown away too too soon. Perversely I've eschewed the bright colours of autumn for the lingering greens and an eyes half closed impression of summer's end.
