One of the few plants flowering in my garden at the moment is this Perovskia, which is a delicate pale purple.

So pleased during a sunny spell here I managed to capture the first of my butterfly photos this year...This was taken at the "Amelia Trust " farm yesterday, today started with heavy rain again...

My old Kodak camera...

Summer is over, but I still like to remember it. Today one more street photo.

As I was walking down the street, I noticed this woman. The inscription (scattered letters) on her clothes is SUMMER (in Polish LATO).

A quick photo and this way the summer was stopped in the photo.

As summer approaches and weather starts to warm up, my friends and I hiked up to this alpine lake in Pacific Northwest alpine lake wilderness area and I was amazed by the pure blue water revealed by the melting lake. I carefully placed myself in this spot to not sink into the ice and I really like how Mt.Stuart poses itself in the background which compensates the foreground.

Decided today to go out and test one of my old lenses for sharpness. It had been dropped a few months back and has never been consistent since. This was one of the sharp ones out of about 10.. And so now I must rush to try and find a sufficient replacement lens before my big trip to San Fransisco.

«Quello che mi sorprende degli uomini è che perdono la salute per fare i soldi e poi perdono i soldi per recuperare la salute. Pensano tanto al futuro che dimenticano di vivere il presente in tale maniera che non riescono a vivere né il presente né il futuro. Vivono come se non dovessero morire mai e muoiono come se non avessero mai vissuto.»

summer is slowly slipping away,

it can seem and feel autumn's on it's way,

the sun is reluctant to hide away,

she appears between clouds and does say . . .

the seasons may come

and the seasons may go,

but I'm always waiting

my warmth and brightness to show,

so autumn is not very far away,

autumn colours and sunshine

combine come what may !

---THANKS SO MUCH EVERYBODY... ---AND HAVE A GOOD DAY...

When I visited Mount Assiniboine provincial park last summer, there was an evening that I observed a true wonderful scene. Standing in front of the river, I took a deep breath, let my time pass by.

Four shots of a Verbena Bonariensis in my garden, which must be camera shy, as it took at least four separate attempts to get it in focus. A relatively new introduction to gardens here (certainly not around 20 years ago), it's now a staple because of its graceful height and pretty clusters of flowers.

More from my garden which in spite of being overdue for some serious attention, is looking wonderful just now. This is my Ceanothus whose flowering I didn't spot when it was at its best, as it's obscured by a large laurel.

Summer is officially gone, welcome fall season, welcome!

I think of these as wild geraniums but I think they're properly known as cranesbill. Either way, I was quite surprised to discover this plant in a flowerbed, as I didn't plant it, and wouldn't have chosen a white one. Now, of course, I think it's rather a good idea, and will maybe fight back against the pink ones...

Last year I bought a mix of seeds called "summer meadow". Plowed up some of my lawn and sowed seeds in the fall. This year, beautiful plants and flowers have arrived. I must admit that it was very beautiful and successful.

Not quite as stunning as the lavender fields of Provence, but lovely all the same.

Every summer has a story what is yours?!
