FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (APRC)
Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (APRC)

The Regional Conference, convened every two years, results in recommendations that guide FAO’s work in the vast Asia-Pacific region, and provide further guidance to FAO’s global conference in Rome in June the following year. Government Ministers and delegates from more than 40 member countries across the Asia-Pacific region will participate in the APRC.

Regional Conferences are an official forum where Ministers of Agriculture and other high officials from all Member States in the region meet to debate challenges related to food and agriculture, thus promoting regional coherence.

Attendance is by Ministers of Agriculture or other high-level representatives of the Member Countries in FAO’s Asia and Pacific region. Relevant nongovernmental and intergovernmental organizations may be invited to attend as Observers.

The Regional Conference is held once every two years, in years when the global FAO Conference does not meet in regular session.
