Meghan Markle's 'fingerprints' all over new award for Prince Harry

Prince Harry is due to receive the Pat Tillman Award for his work with the Invictus Games, despite opposition from veterans and the legend's own mother.

Meghan Markle could have played a role in securing Prince Harry a controversial award nomination thanks to her network of friends, a royal commentator has suggested.

The Duke of Sussex is due to receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service for his work with the Invictus Games. However, the decision was criticised by the mother of the slain US soldier, who quit a multi-million NFL contract to join the army after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and was killed in Afghanistan.

Veterans have also questioned the move, citing Harry's now tenuous links with the military. He faced similar disapproval earlier this year when he was inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation.

Mail on Sunday editor-at-large Charlotte Griffiths told GB News: "This is actually very serious. There's a grieving mother involved and she said: 'Look, I don't know if you're filming your Netflix documentary but you can't just make life about promoting yourself because sometimes there's a serious message behind these events that you attend.'

"Serena Williams is presenting the award and she's a very good friend of Meghan Markle. I have to think, I have to wonder if Meghan's got her fingerprints on this."

Meghan Markle caught in major 'snub' after secret change on Archie's birth certificate

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry once made an "unprecedented" move regarding their son, Prince Archie's birth certificate which was dubbed as a major "snub" to the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Duchess of Sussex changed her youngest child's birth certificate just days after his birth was officially registered.

According to the Sun, the birth certificate was altered to show his mother as "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex" instead of the original "Rachel Meghan".

Harry and Meghan's eldest child was born on May 6, 2019, with his birth registered 11 days later before the amendment was made on June 5.

The outlet at the time reported that this was a "snub" to Prince William and Princess Kate, who used Kate's names on their children's certificates.

Meghan Markle tipped for major move as Royal Family prepare for summer break

Meghan Markle could likely launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard (ARO), this summer as the latest product tipped to be sold under its name leaves a major hint, a PR expert claims.

The Duchess of Sussex landed an Instagram page and website for her brand last March with no official estimate on its official launch.

Renae Smith, founder and director of the Atticism, told Express.co.uk: "The extended teaser campaign may have been too lengthy, as maintaining audience interest beyond 6-8 weeks can be challenging."

She added: "Rosé is typically associated with summer, making it the ideal season for launch to capture seasonal demand."

The PR specialist added that if Meghan doesn't launch her wine during the summer, the next best period to do so would be around the Christmas holidays.

Prince Harry's comments comparing Meghan Markle to Princess Diana left fans livid

Many fans believe Meghan Markle differs significantly from Princess Diana despite Prince Harry's favourable comparisons made in his bombshell Netflix documentary titled 'Harry & Meghan', released in December 2022.

Speaking of his wife, who Harry married in May 2018, he told documentary makers: "So much of what Meghan is, and how she is, is so similar to my mum."

He further explained: "She has the same compassion, she has the same empathy, she has the same confidence. She has this warmth about her."

As he spoke, the episode featured clips of Meghan and Diana intertwined. A clip of Diana holding a young Harry on her hip as she walked behind Prince William played before a clip showing Meghan and the couple’s son Archie, holding hands and running in a garden.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Canada trip could lead to Commonwealth crisis

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 could lead to a Commonwealth crisis, senior aides fear.

According to a well-placed source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s comments in the past about their concerns for the association of 56 member states has triggered a number of discussions inside Palace walls about how best to handle the Sussexes’ link to Canada.

“Harry and Meghan haven’t exactly been very supportive in the past,” the source said.

“This trip [to Vancouver in February, 2025] has been flagged as of great importance over fears that any negative sentiments made about the union during their visit could jeopardise the Commonwealth.

“It’s even been discussed that it might be beneficial to get Harry and Meghan back on side in case there are any incidents that occur while they are promoting the Invictus Games.”

The 'real reason' Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie became distant

Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie "drifted apart" after one major incident which changed the course of their once close relationship, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex and the Princess of York used to be very close even after Harry and wife Meghan Markle quit their royal duties and moved to the US in 2020.

Eugenie's close friendship with the Montecito couple can be tracked all the way back to 2016 when they all attended a Halloween party in Toronto before news broke that Harry and Meghan were officially an item.

The princess even visited the couple at their US home in 2022.

Meghan Markle is said to be "ready to sit down" with the Royal Family for reconciliation talks after four years of barely any contact, as she thinks a good relationship with her in-laws would "help her sell her jam", according to a royal commentator.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been estranged from The Firm since they stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US.

The last time the couple came to Prince Harry's home country together was back in 2022 for the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral.
