Description
The European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the independent public prosecution office of the European Union, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Finance Officer.
As a member of the Finance & Procurement Sector, you will contribute to and facilitate the development and implementation of EPPO’s financial processes and procedures in accordance with EPPO’s financial rules.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of the Finance & Procurement Sector, your tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Coordinating the work of the Finance team, ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions, in line with the applicable rules and procedures;
- Designing, elaborating and implementing processes and procedures based on the financial regulatory framework and providing advice to the Head of the Finance & Procurement Sector on further improving EPPO’s financial circuits to ensure a robust internal control framework;
- Acting as a Financial Verifying Agent (FVA) for financial transactions (invoice registration and payment, budgetary commitments, recovery orders etc.) in a dedicated IT software (ABAC), ensuring they are executed in a legal and regular manner;
- Performing other tasks within the Finance and Procurement Sector as required and in the interest of the service.
- Preparing regular and ad hoc reports in financial management including but not limited, financial transactions, performance management and financial risk management;
- Support EPPO’s transition to the new financial IT software (SUMMA) expected for 2027;
- Providing support to as regards internal and external audits and the preparation of corporate planning and reporting documents (from a finance perspective);
- Contributing to the annual activity report and other corporate reports and deliverables (from a finance perspective);
