Pinterest, from what I understand, exists for the sole purposes of wedding-planning and dessert-ogling. (It's an especially helpful site if you plan on marrying a pound cake.) Here are the Epicurious desserts that have the Pinterest population swooning:

1. French Buttercream

Voila, c'est buttercream! Le French kind! This one is our most popular on the Pin machine, probably because it's a classic, must-have-bookmarked-if-you-love-baking recipe. But we like to think it's also because the writing is fun.

2. Chocolate Spoonful Cake

Gourmet magazine lives on forever in the form of this fluffy chocolate layer cake with whipped frosting.

3. Elvis Presley's Favorite Pound Cake

Real Elvis fans know that The King's favorite dessert was pound cake. A very specific pound cake, baked by his childhood friend Janelle McComb, who passed this recipe along to Gourmet back in the day.

4. Flourless Chocolate Cake

This cake is ultra-popular, probably because it's so dense and dramatic and beautiful. And probably because being gluten-free is still cool.

5. Double Chocolate Layer Cake

This dense, dark cake is the most reviewed recipe on our site, even with that low-res photo.

6. Hot Buttered Rum

I'm going to count this one as a dessert, because it pretty much has the same ingredients as that flourless chocolate cake—mostly sugar and butter—but with rum instead of cocoa powder. Which explains why this one's so popular.

7. Chocolate Truffle Tart

Cookie crust + pudding-like center = the chocolate tart to end all chocolate tarts.

8. Lemon Tart

Some people are into lemon desserts. It's hard to believe these people exist, and I often pretend they don't, but...they do. Because this tart made it into the top 10. [Editor's Note: Lemon desserts are amazing and this is crazy talk. -AH]

9. Italian Fig Cookies

A way fancier, way tastier Fig Newton. And that's a good thing.

10. Coconut Rice Pudding

Rice pudding! It's a sleeper hit of a dessert. I'm psyched it made this list, because I've always believed in it. Rice pudding, you're doing amazing, sweetie.

11. Old-Fashioned Pecan Pie

Because Thanksgiving, naturally. And Pinterest users are smart enough to know that pecan beats pumpkin every time.

12. Original New York Cheesecake

This recipe requires you to put on an old-timey radio announcer voice and say things like, "New York, New York! A city so nice they named it twice!"

13. Panna cotta

This is the ultimate straightforward panna cotta recipe. 10/10 would definitely marry this one.
