The Bear stars Matty Matheson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach talk THAT Emmys kiss as they joke that it was not just a stunt to 'go viral'

The Bear stars Matty Matheson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach have just discussed their famous Emmys kiss in vivid detail.

When their show won Outstanding Comedy Series at the ceremony this January, the two men celebrated their victory by passionately locking lips onstage.

Now in a new joint interview, Ebon, 47, asked Matty, 42: 'What was going through your head when I kissed you at the Emmys?'

'How great your breath was, and your tongue was nice. Was I expecting that? Never,' Matty deadpanned in a video for Elle.

'We didn't plan anything. We didn't wanna go viral,' he added with a sarcastic smirk, at which point Ebon melted into giggles.

In reality, both men have wives and children - Matty is married to his high school sweetheart Trish Spencer and Ebon to Ukrainian photographer Yelena Yemchuk.

Matty and Ebon became an internet sensation in January when they sealed their Emmys victory by sharing a kiss on television.

Several people involved with the series took the stage together to accept the award, including its high-profile stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri.

Matty, who in addition to playing the handyman on The Bear is also a producer on the show and a real-life professional chef, was chosen to give the speech.

Just as he started, however, he was interrupted midstream by Ebon, who took hold of his face and planted a smooch on his mouth.

When the kiss was over, Matty quipped: 'I love you, Ebon,' earning a laugh from the audience of TV luminaries who had gathered at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater.

The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White as the tortured Michelin-star chef Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, whose promising career is forced into a sudden sideways turn.

When his brother (Jon Bernthal) commits suicide, he leaves Carmy his sandwich shop in Chicago to run - with its motley crew of staff.

Airing on FX, The Bear has earned a devoted fanbase among viewers who appreciate its depiction of a busy restaurant's high-pressure environment.

'I just love restaurants so much,' said Matty during the show's Emmy acceptance speech this January, just after Ebon kissed him.

'The good, the bad. It's rough,' he continued. 'We're all broken inside and every single day we gotta show up and cook and make people feel good by eating something and sitting at a table. It's really beautiful.'

Season three of The Bear premiered on June 27, and Ebon recently revealed that part of season four has also already been filmed.

'When we went in to start season three, we weren’t going in to make season three and four,' Ebon said on the podcast Talk Easy With Sam Fragoso. 'But it swelled and some our episodes got quite big and over an hour.'

He shared: 'Some of these episodes were splitting... I was like, you know what, we're going to actually turn this into two seasons and now we are going to be making 15 or 16 episodes instead of 10. But we’re gonna do it all at the same time.'
