Zac bent forward slightly in his seat as he continued to giggle before revealing, 'Um, first thing that comes to mind is that I really drilled all those shots.'

'There's no CGI in there. I don't think we had the budget for that,' he explained. 'So, that makes me feel good.'

He continued, 'That just takes me back to where all of us were at. All the young men on that team, we were so young and so incredibly motivated.'

'Not many people know this, you know, High School Musical was just a made for TV movie and it was very small. So, we had a very condensed shooting schedule and very limited rehearsal time.'

Efron revealed that the choreographer, Charles 'Chucky' Klapow, also made an appearance during the musical number.

'Kenny Ortega had pretty big ambitions for this movie,' Zac continued, referencing to the director. 'But I think he was pleasantly surprised when all the boys were like, excited to not only fulfill what he wanted, but to take it one step further.'

Zac then commented on the basketball sequence during Get'cha Head In The Game as both he and other players performed the choreography.

'We started practicing with basketballs, and I think we might've practiced it for two days prior to doing that all in sync,' the 17 Again star explained, adding that the group would have 'two to three hour rehearsals.'

'After like five takes, we nailed it. Like we got it all in one. Like, they didn't cut from start to finish and all of us were blown away.'

Zac then resumed watching some of the scene as he effortlessly moved around the court and said, 'I just see...I look so light on my feet in that. Oh my gosh.'

He sent a shout out to filmmaker, Kenny Ortega, and added, 'I miss you guys! Man, that's bringing it all back. I haven't watched that in years. That's crazy.'

During the special Vanity  Fair segment, Efron also had the chance to re-watch scenes from other past films, such as The Greatest Showman (2017) and Neighbors (2014).

The latter was a comedic drama also starring Seth Rogen, Dave Franco as well as Rose Byrne.

He opened up about working alongside Kidman once again, after the two previously starred in the 2012 crime drama, The Paperboy.

'On the one hand, I'm still like starstruck every time I see her. So that's...and I don't think that's ever going to change. It's weird, even to this day.'

'I really just am, in a sense, just always gonna be in permanent awe of her. I don't know, I got a deep trust and like, respect for her that I think just makes it fun,' he added.

'I look forward to scenes with her, and there's very little stress. I just gotta get past that initial, "You're Nicole Kidman and we're doing a scene together."'

Efron also recently gushed to People: 'I'm still so enamored with Nicole. There's a part of me that pinches myself when I realize who I'm working with a lot.'

'I think that was more pronounced during The Paperboy because I was a lot younger. I was very nervous back then.'

A Family Affair follows Nicole and Zac's characters striking up a romance, and the two stars opened up about shooting their intimate scenes in the movie.

'It's really helpful when you're doing this sort of work together that you've already got a history together, because it's easy,' the Big Little Lies actress stated.

'You're not working to create a history. So I'm not like, "Can I touch you?" I feel incredibly trusting of Zac,' she continued, with Efron adding, 'We both feel safe, and we take care of each other.'

A Family Affair was released on Netflix on June 28, with Kidman taking on the role of Brooke and Zac playing the character of Chris.

Joey King also portrays Nicole's daughter and Zac's assistant in the project - with other stars such as Kathy Bates and Liza Koshy making appearances.

Upon the film's release, fans were left 'confused' over the actor's altered, facial appearance and wider jaw in the Netflix rom-com.

Some took to X to share their thoughts, with one penning, 'Trying to watch #AFamilyAffair with #ZacEfron, but I'm way too distracted by whatever he did to his beautiful face. It looks like a huge chin implant & lip fillers why would he do that to himself?...'

Another added, 'why tf did zac efron do that s**t to his face?' while one shared, 'Zac Efron went to Cabo and got a face lift.'

However, the actor has previously revealed that his changed appearance is the result of a severe accident that 'shattered his jaw.' The incident also made it into the script of A Family Affair.

During an interview with Men's Health Magazine back in 2022, the star recalled slipping and smashing his chin onto a fountain.

After losing consciousness, Efron woke up to find that the bone of his chin had been 'hanging off his face' and his jaw needed to be wired shut.

Following the accident, the injury resulted in the growth of the masseter muscles on his face and contributed to his now wider jaw.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight in 2022, the actor remembered plastic surgery rumors that had sparked due to his altered features.

'My mom told me,' he said of the speculation. 'I don't really read the internet, so, I don't really give a f**k.'

He labeled the rumors as 'funny' but candidly revealed that the harrowing incident nearly took his life. 'It sucks. I almost died, but we're good.'
