Dr. Scott Rowe was recently selected as the new superintendent of High School District 214. He previously was the superintendent of Huntley Community School District 158, which serves more than 9,000 students PreK-12 from Algonquin, Lake in the Hills and Huntley.

Under Dr. Rowe’s leadership, Huntley District 158 developed a national reputation as a leader in transforming public education to best meet the needs of today’s learners. At Huntley High School, where he served as principal for five years, he oversaw the growth of the school’s pioneering Blended Learning Program from a small pilot into an integral part of life at HHS. In 2019, HHS was named by study.com as the country’s number one high school for blended learning. 

In addition to his leadership role in blended learning, Dr. Rowe helped oversee one of Illinois’s largest 1:1 learning initiatives, as well as the establishment of Huntley’s Medical, Engineering, Fine Arts and Global Academies, offering students specialized coursework and community-based learning opportunities in line with their career interests.

Dr. Rowe served for seven years as a middle school and high school principal within District 158 prior to becoming superintendent. He began his career as a social studies teacher and assistant principal in other districts.

Dr. Rowe holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and master’s and doctoral degrees in educational leadership from Aurora University. He and his wife, Melissa, live in Huntley and have two children.
