Native to sub-Saharan Africa from Mauritania to Ethiopia and south into Namibia and eastern South Africa. Habitat includes open savannah grasslands and woodlands, and semi-arid bush.

Native to central and southern Africa. Habitat includes forests, on plantations, in rocky or mountainous areas and in deserts.

Native to Central and Southern Africa. Habitat includes near thickly planted streams and rivers in the savannas.
