Influencing key decisionmakers across the UK and EU is a vital way Cancer Research UK is fighting cancer. With the support of our Campaigns Ambassadors and E-Campaigner community, we campaign to improve prevention, early diagnosis and access to treatments to help bring forward the day all cancers are cured.
Setting the Standard
To help prevent young people from starting to smoke, 367 MPs voted in favour of plain, standard cigarette packs.
Test Cancer Sooner
The Government confirmed more funding to help the NHS speed up cancer diagnosis after our supporters collected 24,600 petition signatures in just 6 weeks.
Tobacco prevention
UK wide laws were introduced to remove tobacco from vending machines and shop displays after over 1,300 e-campaigners wrote to their MPs, contacted local newspapers and signed a petition.
A Voice for Radiotherapy
The Government invested £23 million to improve radiotherapy after our shops, staff, Cancer Campaigns Ambassadors and e-campaigners collected 36,000 petition signatures.
Protect kids from sunbeds
The Government introduced laws across the UK restricting access to sunbeds to over 18s after 1,300 e-campaigners contacted their MP.
