These Garden Guru Pruning Shears are sharp and working great so far. Testing with a magnet reveals the cutting blades are made of steel, the axle and lock lever is made of steel, and the black-coated metal making up the bulk of the frame is some metal that's not reactive with the magnet. The upper blade's color matches the idea it's coated in titanium. The blade was protected with some machine oil for packaging.The handles are coated in a textured latex and two foam padding tubes have been slid upon each handle. The foam padding favors larger hands and is comfy, but it could be torn off fairly easily if the padding proves unwelcome or unwieldy. I did notice that the "upper" handle is twisted into an angle that would be more comfortable for right handed use vs left handed use.The blade is sharp. The opening spring is shaped to help avoid pinching gloves and the lock lever is convenient and has an adjustable screw hinge to keep it from sliding too easily.I had no problem using these Garden Guru shears to reduce some windfallen cedar branches for yard waste collection. The lower blade is a bit more blunt and did have some burrs to its edge that have already mostly worn away with modest use.
