Good Matter support, but weak brightness unless set to ~2700K

Good Matter support, but weak brightness unless set to ~2700K
I use Apple Home for automation and have a home hub. These Matter-certified bulbs work well with Apple Home and paired instantly in the Home app just by scanning the QR code. So far, on the first day of use, they appear to be totally reliable with Apple Home and work well. The setup was ultra smooth and easy, like all other Matter-certified devices I've added to Apple Home. There are a few cons, though:1. The brightness of the bulbs is pretty weak for a 75W-equivalent bulb. At ~2700K, they are at their brightest and somewhere between 60W and 75W. However, when switching to a daylight temperature like 4000K-5000K they are a good bit dimmer… definitely not over 60W-equivalent, possibly less. And for raw colors, they are drastically dimmer, but colors are just a nighttime gimmick anyways and I don't care about that; I only want to adjust color temperature throughout the day. My big issue is that the daylight temperatures feel dim.2. Some white-range colors are way off with the Apple Home app. Certain near-daylight colors are rendered by the bulb as bright orange, while other smart lights I have render them correctly. It's not a total dealbreaker as I just adjusted the color swatch to something the bulb can handle, but I was surprised by this.3. For some reason, the Matter QR code is not printed directly on the bulb base, just the ID number. There are QR code stickers included in the box, but this really should have been printed on the bulb itself. I will probably lose track of these stickers in the future, and it will be more complicated trying to re-pair them then, since the Apple Home app wants to scan a QR code.Seems like a good budget bulb that's reliable, but I'm still on the fence about returning these and just paying up for the Hue bulbs. Overall, my main complaint is the brightness level at daylight temperatures.

I got these to replace an older Kasa smart bulb that burned out. These have more color options although I still only use them for regular white light. They are nice and bright and have a wide range of color temperature.

I'm only controlling them with the Tapo app, not Alexa etc. or matter. The app is pretty easy to use. Setting up the bulb was easy, and so was configuring it. Adjusting the light color and brightness, creating a schedule etc. was also easy. I have the bulb turn on in the early evening and then switch it to dimmer and yellower later at night, before having it turn off completely at bedtime.

There is one feature in the Tapo app that doesn't work quite right... you can create automations to do things like change the light color or brightness when the bulb (or another device) turns on or off etc. So I made an automation that would make sure the bulb was dimmer and yellower if I turned it on late at night.

The issue is, this automation works fine if I turn the bulb on using the app (which only works if the wall switch was already on), but it doesn't work if I turn on the bulb with the wall switch. The difference is in the first case the bulb was online all along, but in the latter case it's not online until a few seconds after it gets powered on by the wall switch. This makes smart bulbs a "special case" compared to things like smart plugs, cameras, etc. which are assumed to be online all the time whether they're in use or not. The automation logic should be corrected to deal with this.

I had these up and running on my Apple HomeKit in a "matter" of a few minutes. With the Matter technology it was as simple as opening the Home app on my phone, making sure I was on the same wifi network as my HomeKit, plugging the light, clicking add device in HomeKit and then scanning the included QR code. Just make sure if you get a multi bulb pack of these lights that you have the right QR code insert for each bulb. You can match them by looking at the number on the bottom of the QR code and finding the bulb with the same number printed on its base. This confused me at first but once I figured that out easy set up.

The bulbs are easy to turn on and of and adjust via the Home app or Siri voice commands. For example say, "Hey Siri set light brightness to 75%" or "Hey Siri change light color to blue." Overall one of the easiest smart integration setups I've had and I'm pleased with the bulbs.

Purchased 2 bulbs in the summer, after a month bought another 2 bulbs. Just bought 2 more. These bulbs work great and I love that you can select the colour so easily, and can preset your favourite colours. The preset yellow is warm and cozy and feels like an old school incandescent bulb. The app is very simple to use. We’ve been using it in an empty home to amazing success. The app allows you to schedule on and off times as well as away mode. Away mode is my favourite feature. You select the time the mode starts and stops, you can select as many or as few days of the week that you want. The light will turn on and off randomly to create an appearance someone is home. Total upgrade from those old timer plugs we used to use. I can’t recommend this product more. So far zero issues. It’s really simple, and if you want to use the Tapo cameras as well, they are also in the same app. Love that a hub isn’t required. The app also allows you to name each bulb (and camera)
