Longtime user review:I got my old one sometime between ‘07 and ‘10, and I have loved it and taken great care of it all this time. The price point hasn’t changed, so I waited for this one to go on sale to replace it. **I attached a video for side-by-side comparison, while the machine is on as I demonstrate a post-use clearing of the line. Take note of the “pause” that indicates when to switch quadrants, as that’s a new feature. Also, I measured after the video review and discovered the new model only LOOKS taller than the old one.**-It’s still vented for air flow.-The machine has a space for (2) attachments rather than the storage top which had (4).-The attachment space has a drainage path that you should keep an eye on and clean periodically.-This machine features a “massage” mode that the older model did not. I cannot attest to the benefit, as I’ve not used it yet, but the instructions say to use “floss” first and then, switch to massage.”-I keep my Waterpik in a drawer, so size matters. But the old and new have the SAME dimensions despite the slightly different body shape.-Buttons are largely the same in function and location, but two have switched to “slide” operation: water flow on the handle and attachment release. I have RA and carpal, but they are not the least bit difficult to operate.-More attachments than the last model (7 came in the package), despite having insufficient storage for them.-No tongue cleaner attachment was provided despite the generous number of extra tips, but neither was it provided with the old model. I have a dedicated tongue scraper, but it may be useful as an FYI if you’re interested in purchasing one.-People sometimes ask about how I pack it. I just do (if I’m going somewhere for longer than a week), but it’s not meant to be travel-sized. Look into the other model (which I’ve never tried). This one is your ol’ standby - the trusty home unit.Overall: It’s the same glorious machine I once bought alongside my threaders (for all you brace faces out there) to help me get every last bit of food from behind my teeth, between my molars, and beneath my gum line. The first time I used it, it looked like whole sandwiches came flying out, even after brushing and flossing! Take good care of it, and it will take care of you.Additional recommendations because I have sooo many teeth (including healthy wisdoms) and get compliments from my dentist, coworkers, and friends: Dentek Easy Reach flossers (which I can’t find except on AMZN), Dentek Oral Care Kit (picks), and Phillips Sonicare Diamond Clean. Thank me later.
