These SaltStick Electrolyte caps are perfect for long runs an rides during summer training when the body is sweating the most. I’ve been using them for years. When I was training for my first Ironman, I kept getting leg cramps during my hard swim sessions. I started taking one of these salt caps before entering the pool and haven’t experienced cramps since.

I've used Salt Stick previously but had varying results in terms of muscle cramping prevention. I use for hiking primarily and lose a lot of electrolytes through sweating and tend to cramp frequently if I do not use some electrolyte replacement. I switched to IV Liquid electrolyte powder and find that it works well in preventing cramps but recently retried Salt Stick during a hike. I ended up cramping but unsure if I hydrated enough while using which caused the breakthrough cramping. I would say that for sports this product should be sufficient but for those endurance or those who sweat profusely may want to try IV Liquid since it requires you to hydrate more than if you take a few capsules. Just my 2 cents...

I am a long-time distance runner. It is very hot and humid in the summer where I live and as I get older I have found that I need to keep my electrolytes balanced during and after a long run in order to feel good while running and post-run. I use both the regular and caffeinated capsules with good results. On long runs of between 8 and 15 miles I will take one of these capsules with water every 30 minutes. This has helped me to feel good and not dread hot weather running. Also, if I am outside doing yard work in hot weather I will take a capsule every 30 minutes. The SaltStick Electrolytes are easy to swallow and do not give me a stomach ache, acid reflux, or cramping that I have had with other electrolyte products.

I'm in my late 60's and enjoy distance biking, swimming and golf but,I have lots problems with muscle cramps whenever the weather is hot and humid or I'm working out (or playing) for longer periods of time. This product helps reduce, and at times eliminates, cramping. I do take these in combination with sports drinks but have found that sports drinks alone are not enough to curtail cramps. Bottom line...I don't leave home without them.

I've taken a lot of electrolyte supplements for POTS. Many of them aren't coated and are hard to swallow. These capsules go down easily and don't have an aftertaste. 30mg of caffeine per capsule is a nice bonus. I wish there was a little more sodium per capsule, but 190mg is decent. Plus, the price is very reasonable for 100 capsules, which would last me about a month.

Der direkte Vergleich ist schwierig - die gleiche Tour mit und ohne Sticks - haben jetzt der / die Sticks den entscheidenden Vorteil gebracht? Grundsätzlich ist zu sagen: mehrere lange und anspruchsvolle Touren mit den Sticks und einem guten Gefühl - keine Krämpfe oder sonstige Ermüdungserscheinungen.
Die Sticks können (Dosierungsempfehlung liegt bei) 'so wie sie sind' eingenommen werden. Klappt problemlos auch während der Fahrt mit ein wenig Flüssigkeit. Alternativ die Kapsel öffnen und den Inhalt in die Trinkflasche kippen. Auf 750ml eine Kapsel - schmeckt minimal 'salzig' und absolut nicht unangenehm. Bei kleineren Flaschen den Inhalt dosieren, Kostprobe schafft Gewissheit.
Eine Überdosierung ist nicht möglich, da der Geschmack die Grenze setzt. Auch bei Einnahme als Kapsel ist das Thema m. E. unkritisch. Was der Körper nicht braucht geht 'durch' und landet im Trikot.

Bei mir gab es keine Reaktion auf die Einnahme vom 'Verdauungsbereich'. Hier war alles wie vorher - ohne die Sticks.

Kauf- und Nutzungsempfehlung von mir! Rechnet man den Preis auf die Kapsel runter und setzt das ins Verhältnis zu sonstiger 'Sportnahrung' ist das alles ok.
