Before use, machine wash in warm water on gentle cycle, using a minimal amount of liquid detergent (use only non-chlorine bleach). Use mild liquid detergent like the Method brand; do not wash it with other fabrics that may contain chemicals or impart odors. Dry right after washing on low heat or air dry. Hang-dry immediately after each use.

Putting on your AQUIS Original Hair Towel is as easy as

1. Bend at the waist and flip your hair over and placing the towel horizontally at the nape of your neck. Don’t rub.

2. Twist the towel at the crown of your head and secure by tucking the ends in at the nape of your neck and get on with your day while your hair is drying!

The towel is thin but does dry faster than my tee.

My expectation was the towel would have the traditional tuffs, so I was disappointed that it is flat and more like a dish clothe than a towel. Having read reviews with favorable results, I laid aside my expectations and gave it a chance. True it is not wide enough to do a traditional “hair plopping” and not easy to keep on, I worked at wrapping around my freshly shampooed hair by lowering my head as I do for regular plopping, wrapped the towel and gave it a twist and secured with a duckbill clip, then went to sleep on it. The towel stayed intact all night and my hair was 98% dry when I woke up about 10 hours later. This is a 50% better drying outcome than with my cotton tee. So I will have to become accustomed to the narrower towel. The thing is to wrap around your head and tuck in. I was surprised that it stayed intact all night as my cotton tee method had me readjusting multiple times throughout the night as it would become either loose or fall off. Not so with this “towel”. It did dry my hair faster.

This towel has been amazing. My curly hair looks so great scrunching with this towel. I had another microfiber towel that I tried, but it was a camping microfiber towel, and I guess not the same. I hesitated to try this towel, but the reviews were mostly good, so I ordered. SO glad I did. At first, I tried the "plopping" technique described on some curly hair websites, and had terrible results. I tried four times, and my hair just turned out frizzy and flat. On the advice of a posting I saw on a curly hair forum, I tried scrunching with this towel instead, and was so pleased with the results. I have bra strap length long, low porosity, fine to medium high density hair, and as a result, my hair takes forever to dry to the point it can start to smell "musty" like old towels, but the fine parts easily frizz if over dried! I used to have to go to work with sopping wet hair that would literally take 6-8 hours to dry. I wanted something to get my hair dryer faster without the friz. This towel delivered. It soaks up so much water, leaving my hair drier without the frizz or flatness. If I throw my hair over my head and scrunch, that it, instead of "plopping". My hair still takes a few hours to dry, but it takes 4-5 instead of 8, and no more musty smell. I read some other posts complaining of lost absorpancy after washing. I used to work in a towel store, and can tell you, ANY sort of fabric softener at all, whether liquid in the wash or sheets in the dryer coat the towel and drastically cut down on absorpancy. Once this happens I know of no way to clean it off and restore the absorpancy. Another thing that ruins absorpancy in my experience is oils. I have found olive oil (especially), jojoba and shea butter to all effect the absorpancy of my towels. If washed in really hot water with lots of soap two or three times, I was able to get the jojoba and shea butter out (although the towels were never as absorpant as they had been before), but I was never able to get the olive oil out. So, be careful to rinse thuroughly if using straight oils on your hair.

Cuts Drying Time by More Than Half! Less Frizz Too

I tried Aquis about 10 years ago. This new version is clearly an improvement. The waffle design makes for more surface area = more absorbent. I am cutting my hair drying time by more than half! Instead of spending 10 min. to get it 65% dry, now it takes less than 5 to get it 85%-90% dry! Make an Excel sheet and you'll see how much time you'll be saving in a year!

It's super lightweight and I can see my hair is less frizzy after towel drying. Superb quality.

Only 2 things I wish were different:
1. I have a big head. If this was an inch or two wider it'd be less prone to falling off my head. (I should buy the body towel — that size should work perfectly.)
2. The logo patch, while pretty, can feel a bit scratchy in the corners. But not a deal breaker.

Update: I loved this towel so much but I was getting frustrated at the fact that I couldn't fit my very long hair into it. I purchased another one and stitched them together. I'm sure I could have found another larger towel by the same people but I really liked the Hair Towel. Now it definitely accomodates my very very long hair! :)

I just received my Aquis Microfiber Hair Towel and have hair that is about 22 inches long. (mid to lower back length). I've used the towel a few times at this point, and I do really like it's drying capacity. When I am in the shower, I wrap my hair up (turban style) and then finish up my last few minutes of the shower. By the time I get out, dry off and then move on to my hair, all residual drippiness is gone with this towel. My hair gets "crimped" easily by things like barrettes, ponytail holders and hair clips. But this wasn't so dry that I suffered from any odd bends or waves from it. It was left slightly damp and workable.

The one thing that I would wish for (and why it did not get 5 stars) was for a bit more length. When my hair is wet it wraps up almost 100% and I can tuck the back in fairly easily. If you wrap carefully you can manage to wrap around pretty long hair. One time the tucked-in end popped loose, though. Because my hair already had a lot of the mosture taken out, it was impossible to get it back wrapped and tucked again. A bit of a double-edged sword, there. It obviously was doing a great job of drying but made it impossible to re-wrap when it popped loose.

I never blow dry my hair so I'm happy to note that this is the first time in years that I've gone to work without a wet spot on the back of my shirt from the drip spots I can never seem to ditch with a regular towel.

Is it worth the money? Probably, although I'd give that a definitive "yes" if it were a bit larger.

I had purchased an Aquis towel years ago (probably 10 years ago) I have tried several times to replace it, but I haven't been able to find one. So, in the meantime I've purchased many other towels that claim to be absorbent. They're just not as good as my Aquis...it's been well used and is discoloured but it is still my favourite. Oh, and there's not even one stitch that's come loose!! I was about to purchase another "absorbent" towel from Amazon when I noticed that they have the Aquis microfibre towels. I promise you that you will not be disappointed! It's just an all round awesome, well made towel!
