Package: £120,000 - £140,000 basic + OTE + Benefits

The company are leading UK provider of professional services with decades of experience and over 40,000 customers spread across 45 verticals. Their solutions weave pragmatic advice with powerful technology platforms to deliver exceptional customer experience and their NPS scores back this up. Having experienced exceptional growth in the last 24 months through organic growth and acquisition, and a recent £400m+ investment, they are looking for a VP of Sales to help shape the next phase of growth.


The company is currently over 400 people strong and this role is to look after the sales function and help drive the strategy and growth over the coming years. Their business is currently 80% SMB / 20% Mid-Market with a view to develop the mid-market offering considerably. Selling a portfolio of around 4 – 5 different services / solutions and a revenue responsibility for around £20-£22m in new logo sales.


The VP of Sales, along with the Executive team, will drive their purpose and ensure they achieve their vision of being an organisation of excellence. Working closely with the CMO you will be the driving force behind their sales and customer acquisition strategy. You will oversee and be responsible for the successful delivery of all sales operations and customer relationship management by leading the heads of teams and managers.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, market penetration and execute the plan for new business generation and improved client retention rates.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for a multi-product operation with a tailored approach aimed at both the SME & Corporate market, with some Partnership level activity.
  • Board representation – play an active role in SLT meetings, ensuring contributions conveying pipeline and sales operations activity.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to drive high performance and growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the sales department.
  • Ensure the key achievements of agreed revenue and margin targets via a scalable sales process which is fully integrated into Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure streamlined lead generation and sales processes, enabling sales teams to chase and close new business leads swiftly, effectively and successfully.
  • With the support of a Head of Sales, optimise activities across the sales team
  • Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting across the team.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the company's market presence.


Ideal candidate specifications: Skills and Experience

  • A successful track record as a sales/commercial leader in professional services or a related sector.
  • Experience of leading sales functions with a multi product offering into a broad range of industries and markets. With a focus on SMB and Corporate customers.
  • Proven experience in a Strategic Leadership role with demonstrable results and over-performance. Ability to show genuine impact and influence from planning through to execution.
  • Worked in a scale up environment with proven experience of increasing new business revenue. e.g. taken sales functions from £10m to £30m, £20m - £40m etc
  • An unparalleled work ethic with drive, enthusiasm and desire to be the very best.
  • Passion for building and executing new business.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience of the design and execution of business plans and strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a confident and experienced sales team to continued success.
  • A collaborative approach and deep understanding of the benefits of an aligned sales and marketing strategy.
  • Experience of Salesforce (or similar) CRM platforms (including Marketing Automation)
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, demonstrating a talent for persuasive, clear, and effective interaction.
  • The ability to deliver against set objectives and manage shifting priorities and issues which are inherent to a fast-paced business.
