Job Title: UK Accounting & Direct Tax Compliance Junior Analyst

Client Location: Central London - Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Starting: July 2024


Salary/Pay Rate: £284.81 per day (PAYE)

Hours: Full-time

Duration: 6 months


We're partnering with a fintech company to hire an accountant for a contract role based in London. This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 on-site days per week.


What you'll do:

You will be instrumental in ensuring our products comply with local tax and accounting regulations in the UK. Collaborating closely with our product development teams, you will identify compliance gaps, provide expert insights, and assist in implementing solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your strong accounting knowledge to ensure compliance with UK tax and accounting rules.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify potential compliance issues and work towards resolutions.
  • Input regulatory and compliance requirements into our product via a knowledge-based system, utilizing advanced Excel skills and formulas.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of UK accounting and direct tax legislation, particularly forms related to tax submissions.
  • Provide proactive support in navigating regulatory changes and their implications on product development and compliance efforts.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent Excel skills, including advanced formulas and data manipulation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and direct tax legislation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present findings clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in compliance-related tasks.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Membership in an accounting or bookkeeping body is preferred.
  • Newly qualified or recently qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
