Another one! What is going on? Girls in Tech, Inc. is closing its doors after 17 years! Despite having 130,000 members in 50 cities across 38 countries, the organization has faced financial struggles in recent years. "While Girls in Tech bids you farewell, the journey towards equality doesn't end here," said Adriana Gascoigne, the nonprofit's founder & CEO. https://lnkd.in/edFkGFPs I am unaware of the ins and outs of this organization even so, I think it is extremely important that women-led communities and organizations in the pursuit of equality in the #techspace, particularly as that is my focus, should be aware of this. It is why collaborating and supporting each other's groups is so important. And it is why I am so proud of the event that Women in Alliances, Women in Automation, European Women Payments Network (EWPN), Women of FinTech and WiBT Women in Blockchain Talks took part in last month at the AllBright. You can read about it here - https://lnkd.in/eUfXVpxB Off the back of that event, most of the #communities involved, if not all, garnered new members looking to expand their #network and knowledge base. In addition to this we have had other women leaders wanting to join our "Connect & Collaborate" initiative with their women-led organisations. I am super happy about this because by creating a safe and secure place amongst us, if one of our communities is facing a crisis, I hope, we will all feel confident enough to share and get support, as well as apply something we don't know to our problem, thus bringing and being a solution to each other. Business, much less community building with a #DEI slant to it, is not easy but it is necessary. So, those who can support the work we do, please support! 🌞 Summer Party Season in Full Swing! 🌴🎉 Yesterday I had a fantastic morning at the WiBT Women in Blockchain Talks breakfast hosted by Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. Kudos to Lavinia D. Osbourne and Amala Bastian for bringing us all together! 🙌 Later, I enjoyed a Thames afternoon cruise, courtesy of Ogier. Big thanks to Rachael Reynolds KC, Elaine White, Maria Edgeworth, Audrey Bertolotti, Ewelina Clyde-Smith, Anna Snead, and the rest of the fabulous team. Stunning views and refreshing drinks to keep us cool on a hot London day - what more could we ask for? 🥂🌊 And the day didn't end there! The 3 Verulam Buildings summer party was brilliant. Great catching up with many legal professionals, including Chloë Bell, Liisa Lahti, Angela Bilbow, Natalie Todd, Mary Young, Elaina Bailes, Nick Clark, Adam Flacks, Luke Tucker Harrison, Chris Whitehouse and many others. Cheers to friendly connections! 🎊👩⚖️
