About us

The Forum is an iconic landmark in the centre of Norwich, where events take place year-round. Our stunning building is available for hire, and is the perfect backdrop for your event. We offer flexible and accessible spaces, affordable pricing (including a not-for-profit rate), an expert Venue Hire team, and high footfall - as well as an on-site car park and coffee shop. Our spaces include The Atrium, a large central space perfect for markets, fairs and expos, The View, a flexible light-filled meeting space, and our purpose built Auditorium, which seats 120. Staff set-up and take-down is included in the cost of the venue booking, and our friendly team are on-hand to support where needed. As well as our hire events, The Forum presents and coordinates a range of amazing festival events for everyone to enjoy. We present Norwich Science Festival; one of the country’s leading science festivals, Norfolk Makers Festival; a celebration of creativity, Norwich Games Festival; an interactive gaming festival, and coordinate Norfolk Heritage Open Days; the country’s largest free heritage festival. The Forum also works with partners across Norfolk to support on large scale events such as Norwich Pride, Norfolk & Norwich Festival and Run Norwich. The Forum is home to the Millennium Library, BBC East, Pizza Express, Cafe Bar Marzano, On the Stall City and Norfolk Citizen's Advice Bureau. There is also a safe and spacious underground car park, with accessible spaces. The Forum is managed by The Forum Trust, a registered charity which receives no regular public funding. By choosing The Forum as your venue, you'll be helping to support our community events, festivals, partnerships and projects. The Forum opened in 2001, and was the landmark Millennium project for the East of England, part of a £2billion range of buildings, environmental projects, celebrations, and community schemes funded from the National Lottery to mark the year 2000.

We're so ready for this year's Norfolk HODs festival - the ideal way for everyone to enjoy history, explore new places across the county and discover stories of our rich heritage! Thanks to everyone who came to the launch yesterday and enjoyed a snippet of what's to come.

You and me got a whole lot of history... It was an absolute delight to attend the Norfolk Heritage Open Days launch yesterday at Cinema City in Norwich (itself a pretty awesome historical location). After hearing about this year's fantastic event, we were treated to a tour of Elm Hill by the incredibly knowledgeable Jan. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I will NEVER cease to be amazed by this place. The layers of history in Norwich and Norfolk are MIND BLOWING 🤯 Andrew Kitt and myself look forward to Heritage Open Days every year and we can't wait to see where it'll take us this year... Thanks so much for inviting us along yesterday Rowan Whiteside, Millie Batch, Katie Ellis, Sam Joyce and big well done for the HUGE effort you all put in to HODs. It just keeps getting bigger and better every year 🙌 p.s. Norfolk HODs brochure is live online and out now in paper form. Over 200 FREE events across Norwich and Norfolk - all taking place this 6-15th September.

Norfolk HODs brochures are in the building!  England’s largest festival of history and culture, Heritage Open Days (HODs), is back 6-15 September and we are delighted to bring you the 2024 Norfolk programme.   Lots of HODs events are drop-in and you can just turn up on the day, there’s always plenty to enjoy and experience, no matter your age, the time you have to spare, or your budget - because it's all FREE.  You can also find brochures in your local Norfolk library and Tourist Information Centres, and you can even download a digital version on the Norfolk HODs website, so you can get browsing right away!  A big thank you to our Print Sponsor, Hollinger Print.

The Forum is here for everyone and access is vital. Our new Changing Places facility means that we can welcome even more people to the building, and support their needs.    Scarlett, pictured, is a regular visitor to The Forum. She and her family have told us how having access to a Changing Places Toilet has improved their experience visiting the city so they can engage with the community and attend more events.   Across the country, more than 250,000 severely disabled people do not have access to toilet facilities that meet their needs. It's #ChangingPlacesAwarenessDay. We're grateful to have received government funding to install a Changing Places facility in the building, thanks to a successful bid by Norwich City Council in 2022, opening the facility in 2023, making The Forum more accessible.

Here's a few pics from a recent promo shoot for Norfolk Heritage Open Days with the lovely team from The Forum Norwich. We had the great pleasure of visiting the Mid-Norfolk Railway which proved a fantastic location for some of our shots. Look out for the HODs brochure coming out sometime soon.
