Founded in 2010 on the back of a round the world adventure, The Big Sky was born of a dream to explore the vast horizons of the world, to drive endless roads, to value the journey as much as the destination. Cutting together footage from that adventure into a feature documentary ignited a passion that still fuels us today. Our ethos; to tell stories, not just through compelling narrative, but through beautiful, captivating visuals. Back in 2015, our film, Mahout: The Great Elephant Walk, narrated by Stephen Fry, won ‘Best UK Film’ at the London Independent Film Festival. Co-produced with James Dartnall, the success of this feature doc was a real springboard for The Big Sky at the time - our clients saw the value of storytelling and emotion in our film making and wanted to bring this to their brands. Our Environmental impact report is here! Doing our bit for the planet is still a huge driving factor in all that we do. In 2023/24 we offset a total of 40.2 TONNES of Carbon Dioxide. This is twice our calculated emissions of 17.1 tonnes, plus a 6 tonne home-working contribution. This year we chose to stand for female empowerment on the Guatemalan coast! These top 10 production and service companies contributed to the significant increase in completed projects that we saw in 2023! 📈 Production and service companies are a crucial part of the move to sustainable advertising, and are responsible for the majority of data gathering and inputting. While creative teams or advertisers may have the best intentions to reduce carbon emissions on shoots, if production teams are not given the time and resources to make necessary changes to achieve this reduction, then this can present significant challenges. We’d like to assure the production community that we are doing our part to make the process of measuring as quick and simple as possible, with significant improvements coming in the next few months. The production companies listed here completed the largest number of projects in 2023, and we’d like to applaud them for taking on the task of embedding carbon measurement into their work. 1.
