Yesterday, we marked 20 Years of STEM Learning! 🎉 Staff celebrated by taking part in workshops, welcoming our new Chair, Lord Jim Knight, and of course, eating lots of cake during a staff picnic 🎂 We want to mark 20 years by thanking our funders, volunteers, partners, educators, and staff for their support, dedication, drive and commitment to inspire the next generation in STEM. We couldn’t have got here without you! Since 2004, we have supported millions of young people and had a major impact on STEM education, with a proven impact on teacher retention, student aspirations and teacher workload. This has resulted in a huge social value impact across two decades. We're asking organisations, individuals, and educators to celebrate this milestone with us by taking part in our #STEMgiving20 campaign by: ⭐ Donating – Give £2k, £20k, £200k, £2m to support improvements in STEM education and enrichment. ⭐ Volunteering – just 20 minutes of your time to bring STEM alive to inspire young people. ⭐ Engaging – just 2 hours or 2 days to attend one of our teacher CPD courses to improve knowledge and skills in teaching STEM to young people. This is learning at its most exciting and unpredictable! 🤓 Computer education leaders U Can Too recently visited Maidstone Grammar School for Girls to run their Drone Assault Course workshop with 30 students. Joined by our very own Séverine, STEM Learning CEO, the young people learnt all about computer programming during the session, which culminated in the building and programming of an assault course where they competed amongst each other. #ComputerEducation #Drones #Education

I had a fantastic time exhibiting #sAInaptic and sharing my expertise on EdTech tools for science education at the National Secondary Science Conference in York. We explored popular tools like Diffit for Teachers and Brisk Teaching, and the discussions were incredibly insightful. These events are invaluable for staying connected to the classroom experience, which can sometimes feel distant when you're not teaching daily. Stay tuned for my next post on teacher insights into "concerns with EdTech tools." A huge thanks to Paul Johnson, Louise Herbert, and Matthew Jackson from STEM Learning UK for organising this wonderful event! #EdTech #ScienceEducation #TeacherCommunity #STEM #AiinEducation #teachers

Recently I was invited to speak as a panellist for an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of STEM Learning. It was an honour to be part of the event and engage in the workshops that day. As a panel, we discussed how being involved in STEM Learning and doing a Nuffield Research Placement has helped us. It was also a great chance for me to discuss how my visual impairment has influenced and inspired me in my decisions about my future career paths and how important it is to break stereotypes and assumptions surrounding disabilities. Massive thanks to the STEM Learning UK team – it was an incredible day.

"How in the world... did you do that?!" Is there anything better than seeing and hearing children's reactions to mind-blowing experiments? Such curiosity in bringing science and wider STEM subjects to life can be the difference when it comes to young people choosing a career in these fields. Watch and be amazed. 🤯 #Classroom #Teacher #Education
