We loved hosting our first RHS Children's picnic at the Scone Palace Garden Fair in Perthshire, Scotland this month, when we were joined by children from Guildtown, Cranhill and Netherlee primary schools 🙌 As well as enjoying a picnic, the children learnt how to sow their own salad and herbs, and displayed the work that they have been doing as part of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, which included supermarket baskets upcycled into strawberry beds, drums transformed into herb gardens, and succulents growing in tea sets. Celebrating the UK’s finest specialist plant growers and nurseries, the RHS Master Grower scheme awards those who go the extra mile, nurturing beautiful, healthy plants, while also taking a sound, skilful and sustainable approach to production. At this year’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, the accolade goes to big-veg specialists Robinson Seeds & Plants, funded in Lancashire by William Robinson in 1860 and now run by the 4th and 5th generation of his family. Champions of unusual vegetable varieties, the nursery has seen many of its introductions become mainstream staples of allotments around the country. Find out more in this video, and come meet the Robinson's family at #RHSTattonPark from 17-21 July 2024 https://lnkd.in/d4mh6pxy
