📢 Last few spots left for our event! 🎶"Music: the key ingredient in urban regeneration?'' 📍 Studio Egret West Reserve your place below and don't miss out! 📅 Friday, July 5th 🕒 5:30 PM - 8 PM 📍Studio Egret West 🎟️ https://ow.ly/Qmr650Smf6g #UrbanRegeneration #Architecture #Community #SEW+Tell #RIBALondon #OpenForum
Join Studio Egret West /RIBA London for our next SEW+TELL collab: The Beat Goes On… Music: the key ingredient in urban regeneration? We all know that practice makes perfect, but as almost 16% of the UK’s small venues closed for good last year, there are less and less spaces for your next favourite artist to master their trade. And yet, the beat goes on. Music weaves its way through our urban fabric, forging space in community halls, pubs, the underground and busking pitches. Music can kickstart regeneration, bring communities together, establish a generational scene and even rebrand entire cities. How can architects and urban designers make space for music? Who will pay for it? How big should a venue be? And who is it for? SEW +Tell /RIBA invites to you to an open forum for discussion on the above topic with a mix of presenters from industry experts through to students from the RIBA. We're delighted to announce that in our line-up of speakers we already have Jett Glozier of Sound Diplomacy and Lenny Watson of Sister Midnight. After an initial presentation and debate, you’ll get to enjoy an evening at Studio Egret West Clerkenwell Studio with cheese & wine (soft drinks as well), networking and chips! 📆 Friday 5th July 2024 ⌚ 6:00 – 8:30 pm 🏨 Studio Egret West, 3 Brewhouse Yard, London EC1V 4JQ Spaces are limited, so if you'd like to attend, please DM Anna Motture to get on the list. See you there.

Join WIA UK and RIBA for our first Parents event of 2024. This session aims to explore the ways in which Architect parents deal with the responsibilities of high demanding jobs and childcare, the work patterns developed, the balance of tasks between mothers and fathers and the impact of their career’s progression. The four objectives of the event are: - Explore UK large and small practices maternity, paternity and flexible working arrangements for Architect parents with babies or children of varying ages. - Feature positive examples of practices offering enhanced maternity and paternity leave and support for parents returning to work. - Understand why Architect mothers’ career progression is generally more affected than fathers when returning to work. - Analyse cases where shared parental leave has been an incentive for couples to balance their career progression.
