Fantastic news – our outline planning application at Cinderhill for 30ha of employment land and 300 new homes has been approved by Amber Valley BC! 👏 The scheme for Harworth Group plc will regenerate this long-standing industrial site, deliver much needed remediation and install high quality infrastructure to deliver Grade A commercial units as part of a mixed-use scheme that also provide new homes. Executive Director Steve Lewis-Roberts, said: “This is a big step forward in realising a hugely positive opportunity for the local area of Cinderhill. The whole project team has worked very closely with Council officers, making significant revisions to directly address issued raised by consultees. So it’s brilliant to secure support from the local planning authority, and really great news for the local area as, once delivered, the Grade A industrial and logistics space will create over 1,000 new jobs. Now it’s onto the next stage as we continue to work with Harworth to firm up the details to deliver this strategic site.” This project brought many of our expert teams together – we advised on public consultation, planning, urban design, heritage, economics and landscape. #planning #housing #development

Yesterday, the King's Speech outlined a transformative vision for the future of planning and economic growth in the UK. We welcome the clear recognition of planning's critical role in economic prosperity, and look forward to further details as they arise. In the last week Labour has shot out of the gates with pace and vigour that's shaping up to be a welcome breath of fresh air across the nation. But, with the always politicised nature of planning and local opposition, delivery will be challenging when it comes to its pledge for swift new town development. An ambitious goal that requires significant cross-party collaboration. The private sector's housebuilding enthusiasm needs to be married with policy stability and better public-private partnerships. So, Labour's support for council-led affordable homes will be key in achieving the target of 300,000 homes a year. While reinstating green belt reviews and housebuilding targets are foundational steps forward, substantial funding for local planning authorities is essential, and will have a critical impact on Labour's economic growth strategy. How can we ensure that these ambitious plans translate into tangible results for communities across the country? Drop us a comment with your thoughts. ⬇ #labour #government #planning #housing

Great news! We've secured permission to extend the life of Cliffs Farm Wind Farm from 25 to 45 years on behalf of our client Freshview Energy Ltd. Originally permitted in 2008, with the first electricity export in 2011, this extension will now see operations continue until December 2056. This supports our goals to reach net zero by 2050 and brings substantial public benefits: ✅ Reduced CO2 emissions; ✅ Increased renewable energy supply; and ✅ Enhanced energy security by reducing reliance on imports. Change is now afoot with the new Labour Government, making this wind farm consent one of the last under the Conservative planning system. Cliffs Farm Wind Farm is one of many onshore wind farm life extensions we've secured in the past 18 months, most of which are for an additional 10 or 15 years, making this 20-year extension an exception. This case demonstrates Pegasus Group’s expertise and adds to our wealth of experience in renewable energy projects, following on from the great success of last year’s Manor Farm wind turbine consent (one of the tallest in England at 150m to blade tip, which is now erected). #RenewableEnergy #NetZero #Sustainability #ClimateAction #EnergySecurity

Continuing our long-standing partnership with The Ivy Collection, our team has secured not only planning permission, but also listed building consent and advertisement consent for the conversion of Liverpool's Bank of England building into the latest iteration of the iconic restaurant. This historic, Grade I listed building, designed by Charles Robert Cockerell, is to be revitalised as a part of the hospitality group's continuous nationwide expansion, adding further vibrance and commerce to the city centre. The Bank of England's planning permission is the latest of several our team has secured for The Ivy Collection over the years, so a well deserved congratulations to Kate Roberts, Claire Gayle and the team for getting this one over the line. 👏 Pump House Designs, Lehding Services Design, ACA ACOUSTICS LIMITED, TROIA (UK) RESTAURANTS LIMITED #planning #Liverpool #development #heritage

I had the pleasure last week of attending the Loughborough University Architecture (LU-ARC) End of Year Show and the honour of presenting two awards on behalf of Pegasus Group. Congratulations to all of the students for their exceptional calibre of work. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and innovation shown to address the challenges society is set to face. 🌍 ✍ Delighted to present the Part C award for ‘Best Hand Drawing’ to Jessica Biddle. The incredible site section(s) convincingly conveyed the vast scale of the historic gasholders against the intimate and atmospheric human scale of the Dementia Memory Archive. 📍 Our second award for “Placemaking” in the M1 studio went to Ker Xin Lee. What impressed me was the level of research and study into not only the end users but also a consideration of the wider community, across ages and cultures. This informed a clear programme to create a form that suits the range of craft uses while creating intrigue and engagement with the wider context for those passing on foot and via. the canal. Well done to all 👏 #Architecture #Academia #Awards

The Pegasus Group East Midlands Golf Day was held at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club Club this month, with teams led by Gary Lees, Nick Cox, James Clark, Alan Siviter, Wesley Bray, Graeme Pratt and James Fairweather. An enjoyable day hosting some valued clients, followed by a post-golf debrief over dinner to reflect on the perils of the Championship Course. Embarrassingly, Pegasus Group walked away with a number of prizes on the day, with James Clarks’ team topping the table with a score of 90 points! #networking #golfday #hospitality
