We’re intending to fine NCFE £300,000 for failing to develop valid question papers for T Levels in healthcare, healthcare science and science in summer 2022. The breaches include failing to follow processes to develop assessments and having inadequate processes to identify and manage risks that could impact assessment delivery. We took unprecedented action to intervene and instruct the awarding organisation to withdraw, recalculate and reissue around 1,200 students’ results that year. Ofqual Executive Director of Vocational and Technical Qualifications Catherine Large said: “Students must have confidence in their results, whatever qualification they take. To achieve this, we set legally binding standards for all awarding organisations to adhere to.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eyXHfBmc

I recently had the privilege of visiting City College Norwich and Access Creative College in Norwich to hear from staff and students about their experiences of the qualifications Ofqual regulates. I really enjoyed touring facilities in both colleges. It was wonderful to hear from students at Access Creative College about their positive experiences of qualifications in the creative sector. These encompassed level 3 qualifications in music production, vocal artistry, and games development. At City College, I heard about students’ experiences of apprenticeship end-point assessments, T Levels, and wider exams administration matters. It was enlightening to learn about their inclusive training provision and the dedicated support they provide to students with additional needs. I also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with ESOL practitioners, gaining valuable insights into their experiences of delivering these qualifications. Thank you so much to both Norwich colleges for kindly hosting us. I hope to visit more colleges in future to hear what other students and teachers think about the qualifications we regulate. #RegulatedQualifications #EndPointAssessments #Ofqual

Remind students to avoid social media accounts claiming to sell exam papers. It isn't worth the risk; these accounts are almost always scams and students could be disqualified. Encourage them to report it. https://lnkd.in/gSzKFRaC Joint Council for Qualifications CIC Association of School and College Leaders Department for Education Association of Colleges #Exams2024
